I heard some rumors, and really saw something about Palmer and Lasky(like expression) . Something uncommon happened between them, isn’t it?
Rule #1 of a fandom: never believe rumours unless they come from a credible source.
I’ll be honest I’ve been reading the halo: omnibus all day today and they really seem to have something between them.
Well they are really good friends, I think Palmer told a lie to ONI or something at some point in some comic, to make Laskys life slightly less complicated. I can’t remember the details.
Woah, I feel awkward just being here and reading this lol.

That is good wisdom, I’ll remember that.
Nothing concrete has happened, but personally I feel like there’s tension between them.
What happened to the elite in love?
Idk, dig deep

obvio microbio, se ve a leguas
I think there is tension but just don’t believe the fandom unless there is proof.
I think Palmer admitted to Lasky he was one of her closest friends in the aftermath of the debacle on Ealen IV. We also see them jogging together in what I can only describe as an off-duty occasion in one of the habitats aboard Infinity.
We’ve seen several examples of inter-duty relationships before – Buck and Dare, Johnson and Jilan al-Cygni, Locklear and Polaski, ect. I could believe something forming based on the precedent that’s been set.

Yea it will be curious if 343 makes any investments in the direction but at this point it seems like a storyline that could easily be abandoned or dismissed

“friend”. Ha! Lasky got friend-zoned.
In all seriousness, I don’t think that every male-female friendship in the mainline halo games needs to be romantic. I’m not completely against it, but If you do it too often it becomes boring. Alpha-nine alone already has two relationships (Buck and Dare, Dutch and Gretchen).

Unfortunately there are way too many deluded people who go overboard. __CoughMCCough__Cortana

Thankfully not every male-female relationship is like that. I don’t see any signs of Carter and Kat or Miranda and whoever being advocated. Right now Lasky is doing what he can just to keep away from Cortana by randomly jumping in and out of slipspace.

It’s one of the more complicated relationships out there, though. You see comrades, friends… stalkers in that dynamic. You can read about Cortana’s obsessiveness towards the Chief in places such as “Human Weakness” and when Halsey was allowing her to pick which Spartan she “wanted” during Fall of Reach.
I think on some level – i.e the inherent female psychological aspect – Cortana may harbour that kind of desire for John but you have too many circumstances that would make such an idea neither viable or comfortable for either person. Regardless, we know she’s certainly possessive of the Chief to the point that she was willing to take him with her during her “reclamation” campaign despite being aware of his strict opposition to her plans.
