- As a not-so-hardcore Halo multiplayer fan, otherwise known as a ‘casual’, (don’t flame because I am not self concious about my ego) I like to think outside of the box, asking myself and friends “how awesome would it be if they did this, or that”, and I would like to share my thoughts on having Persistant Online Battles - similar to Star Wars: Battlefront, but endless!
An editable FOV (A.K.A field of view), such as being able to make it look like ODST’s or Reach’s would satisfy people that can’t stand a specific level. What would also make it cool would be if you could edit where you want you HUD icons, an what colour you want them to be in Multiplayer. and Persistant Social Matches. Thoughts?

I think the HUD should DEFINITELY be customizable, all with classic versions of everything (I want to see my gunners health again). As far as FOV, not quite on board with custom FOV, but I think it make a cool custom game option…
Best gamemode idea ever:
FOV: 360 degrees
HUD: Filled with nothing but ammo counters

I am talking about the first person arms and weapons; Like how in ODST, your weapon is further away from your face than in Halo 3.
Customizable HUD should have been applied much earlier in the series. I have always wanted a red HUD or a green one.
FOV I’m against.
Not sure about the field of view thing.
But a customizable Heads up Display would be cool, I’d like to be able to change the color and maybe move the shield bar around.
Edit: Maybe not move the Shield bar, but have the option to have the layout like Halo CE, 2, 3 and 4.
Could you explain what these persistent battles actually are please OP? I never played Battlefront (please don’t hate me).

Guys, OP doesn’t mean the visual Field of Vision, as in how much you can see on either side, but weapon placement FOV.
Here’s an example.
Even so, I’m not sure I’d like this. Maybe if it was preset to three or four variants, but obviously people would do their best to make the weapons as small as possible giving them an easier chance of seeing enemies with otherwise heavily obscuring weapons.
Not that it’s a huge issue.
Customizable huds would be fine though.

Yeah. I was thinking around 2-3 presetted layouts, maybe not a full on slider.
I just think that the FOV in ODST helped the game be a little more immersive.
And I’m not so sure about it having a place in ranked matches; but it may be cool to have in social, campaign, firefight, etc.

Persistent Online War is basically a multiplayer match at a massive scale, that doesn’t have a time/capture/kill limit.

In addition to the above it would be nice to have the option to choose the handedness of our player (left handed / right handed).
Custom HUD’s would be amazing even if it’s as simple as choosing between CE/H2/ODST/H4, but custom item placements and colours would be the best.
