One thing I find really weird decision wise is to make so many things use the same color (particularly red). Yes I know outlines can be changed.
But in previous games, the covenant was a sea of blues, purples, and greens, and even their projectiles reflected it. Many had their own shades and brightnesses so you could easily tell what was being fired at you.
In halo infinite, all red plasma is the same shade of red. The ravager, the ghost’s plasma cannons, the shadow turret, the wraith, heck even closed forerunner doors. The banshee bomb which should be a fuel rod and not a plasma weapon should be green but is also red.
Rockets also all seem to have a red glow oddly instead of orange.
Frag grenades glow orange while on the ground, same glow as the ghost. I understand visibility but the frag grow is honestly confusing and it glowing orange tells me danger. Add to this friendly fire being off and its hard to tell if i should be afraid of a grenade coming at me or not.
I can’t imagine what this game does to colorblind people.
I actually had a moment with the stalker rifle and the shock rifle. I went and saw a red rifle and thought “score shock rifle time to bug some people” then I realized it was a stalker rifle and went “wait wheres the electricity”. Weapon clarity could use a little bit of work.
From what I saw in the small clips early access campaign people can post theres now white plasma pistols out and about… ech. And if the weapon drills weapon pictures are to be believed. There are other white skinned weapons too.
Mmm interesting, they could be “coated” versions of the same guns
I think yes, at least it is one of the reasons that make sense, like the red ghost, red banshee, since the Banished are lead by Atriox a Brute. But yeah, classic colors where more unique.
