Lag is usually due to your connection not the game. Try a hard reset of your console and maybe reset your modem or router. Use a wired connection for your Xbox if possible.

I too have noticed more deaths behind walls. I get shot and killed from angles that are impossible for the enemy to have killed me from. Very frustrating. Not to mention the banshee has been rendered completely useless now especially on viking. Spartan Laser takes you out every time you hop in the cockpit.
Try playing from Australia getting shot through walls happens every game and has happened since it got released
