Overpriced Map pack

The map packs are way over priced. Those three maps are not worth 800msp 300 msp at the most. After playing on them I won’t buy any dlc for this game. I know 343 doesn’t care what one gamer thinks and that’s a shame. Hopefully people will wake up and see they are being ripped off , sadly most people won’t realize how badly they are being overcharged.

I agree with you, I don’t think that each map pack should be $10 since we already paid $60+ for the game and then you pay your annual fees for Xbox live on top of that. I’m fine with the fact that it takes time, personnel, and money in order to create them, but I believe that $5 would be more justifiable.

Its almost like everyone has their own perceptions of what things should be valued. Crazy.

People aren’t blind. They won’t buy something they don’t want to buy. I agree with you that map packs are overpriced, but what will you do about it? -Yoink!- just wants to make money (BTW: Don’t blame 343 people: they only MAKE maps, they don’t sell them).

Everything should be 5 cents.

It costed 0 MSP on the 2 first days!
How much cheper can it get?

2000 points for Map Pass = 667 points per map pack rather than 800, 9 maps total = 222 points per map (£1.88 GBP per map).

Plus it includes an exclusive in-game emblem and two helmets which I’m sure some people would have paid a few hundred points for separately if they were available on Marketplace.

Basically, getting the Map Pass is pretty good value in my mind. You’ll probably disagree though.

Every other map pack starting from Halo 3 has been 800msp…

Is everyone that plays this game poor? I get that impression.

It was overpriced when it was free.

Says the KID that has access to his moms credit card whenever he needs it.

800 msp is about what I pay for lunch everyday. Its not breaking the bank. Even if he is a kid, he’s right.

Map packs have always been $10 (800 MP = $10) with every halo game. How are people complaining about the price NOW when it’s always been that way?

Sounds like the “14 Day Buy and Play” fiasco was a happy accident. It let a lot people try out the maps and save their money if they didn’t like them.

Perhaps 343 should do this with the next two map packs?

The maps were great, they’re no worse than anything that was put out for Reach since certain affinity made those maps too. Every map pack for Halo has been $10 for 3 maps, this isn’t going to change.

Oh and before someone tries to call me a child, I’m a 30 year old man who works for his money and has been supporting (and enjoying) the Halo franchise since CE.

Everyone is just up in arms over the “trial” version of the map pack. This is nothing more than misplaced rage.

The first Halo 3 map pack became free in less than four months. The rest of them included some of the greatest Halo maps (Avalanche, blackout, sandbox) we’ve seen. Not only that but even today I can still play them. These maps should be at a discount because after they remove the DLC playlist, we’ll probably never see the maps again (like Reach).

They’ve always complained about it. It just translates to my parents said no so they cost too much.

I’ve seen the maps numerous times outside of DLC playlist. Does that change when the “14 day trial” (lol) ends? Possibly. Possibly not

They won’t be removing the DLC playlist. It will stay, why?because there is achievements tied to that playlist. Remember in Halo 3 when people asked for the Sword to be removed from FFA. We were told we cannot remove the sword from FFA because there was an achievement tied to that playlist with the sword.

Unless you can get the crimson achievements in other playlists the DLC playlist wont be removed.

Population has already diminished. I don’t like the maps, and add to that broken achievements and horrible lag and I’m feeling more than a little ripped off

I was waiting for someone to defend the greedy moneygrubbers AKA 343i.

It is not that 800msp is a lot. It is just annoying that they would release the game with crap maps and then release a dlc one month after. Not to mention that they lied in the trailer of the map pack presumably to get people who wanted more small maps to buy the map pack.
