I think the the grenades in Reach were way overpowered, someway somehow they need to find a way to make grenades to not be the cause of every single one of my deaths or deaths to others. Maybe they can start out with spawning us with 1 grenade, I don’t know but something needs to be done. What do you guys think.
The grenades seem like they will be similar to Halo 3. Plus I have heard that there is a mod that allows you to pick up nades. So you can’t pick up nades if you don’t have it.

Halo 3 style grenades were nice. Plasma insta-kill if you stand over it and frag only if shields are down and you’re close enough.
Reach’s grenades were a bit OP IMO. Not much, but I would prefer them being a tad weaker.
Grenades seem weaker than in Reach and more like Halo 3’s grenades which is a good thing. I hated those mini nukes. If you were weakened by one DMR shot a grenade could already kill you.
Halo 3’s grenades were perfect. Halo 4’s feels like a mix between the two. Has more bounce than Reach’s but less than Halo 3’s and a bit more powerful than Halo 3’s. Ive only played a few games of Halo 4 so thats what my opinion of them are
From what I’ve seen, not picking 'nades up from dead bodies by default is enough of a nerf. I think the power seems about right from videos I’ve watched. I’m sure my opinion will change one way or the other when the game drops, but until then, my best guess is that grenades seem appropriately balanced.

That’s been elaborated upon a bit now, you can ALWAYS pick up nades off the map, regardless of having the mod or not. The mod enables you to pick up grenades off of enemies, for example when you kill them and take their gear.
On topic, grenades look far from OP, they are apparently like Halo 3 grenades, with sprint and all the AAs I reckon grenades will be easy to avoid, not nukes like in Reach.
Good point. The Reach grenades were overpowered. I would always throw a grenade at their feet, enemy does the same, but I die. I hope they are closer to Halo 3’s grenades.

I hate that about Reach
I think the damage grenades in Reach deal is fine, it’ the area in which that damage could be inflicted that needs toning down.
But the grenades look to be similar to H3’s, which I’m okay with.
I hope they take the nade ‘casting time’ from Halo 3. I haven’t really been able to tell from H4 gameplay, but I miss how it took a part of a second to toss the nade. It made you have to think more about where to place it and it made timing a lot more significant than the Reach nade spam.
I’m not trying to be “that guy” but halo 3 did have so pretty solid nades that wasn’t op, hopefully 343 takes notes.
frags underpowered in reach post patch and way underpowered in three. quit complaining like a bunch of four year olds.
Grenades are grenades. They suppose to kill group of people with just one explosion. That’s what grenades do. Until they are killing people behind solid walls, you cannot say they’re overpowered.

Exactly, it’s funny how people call grenades OP while you can survive a grenade when it explodes right in your face…
