Okay, so I’ve been playing a lot of ranked matches and it is unbelievable the countless times I’ve been killed or damaged by grenades. I think starting with 2 grenades is a bit too much and teams are constantly spamming. It should be better if we only spawned with 1 grenade or maybe just leaving them as floor loot. It is truly annoying to be constantly affected by grenades and it has made me even think to delete the game because it seems that instead of being a game of skill it is a game of which team can throw grenades first.
I feel this is more of a problem in BTB rather than 4s but i do agree/have been saying in ranked grenades need to be a pick up with the amount of grenade spam that happens
hard pass, grenades are extremely important. weve always had 2 grenade start so… get used to it.
I get it. Grenades have never been a problem for me in any Halo game, but specifically in this one they feel a lot more op
The grenades are underpowered if anything really.
Grenades aren’t OP, there’s just no situation other than “I am being shot” in which throwing them is a bad idea. If Friendly Fire did full damage in ranked people would be a lot less likely to toss them haphazardly. As it stands Friendly Fire is so small that I didn’t even notice it until I got a loading screen tip.
Grenades are definitely overpowered to previous games.
Grenades are underpowered when I’m using them and overpowered when others are using them.
There’sa huge amount of grenade spam
Grenade spam is a problem resulting from map design, not the grenade mechanic itself. Play on Behemoth and it’s not a problem. Play on crappy Aquarius or Streets and you’ll die to grenades more than half of the time.
IMO, grenades have too much of a drop off. My grenades that land within 5 feet of an enemy seem to do nothing to them.
It’s the map design, not the grenades.
Yeah I would love if you only spawned with 1 grenade. I play that way in Custom Games with big groups of friends and it’s way more fun. Makes a massive difference having only one to throw instead of two, the spam is so much less annoying.
Yes, they are overpowered. The blast radius basically travels through walls. Last halo an experienced player could tactically round a wall to minimize damage but not this one.
This doesn’t matter. If you like it this way then fine but this does not matter lol.
We can’t even spawn with less grenade because… It’s halo…
This was intentionally by design from all the way back since Halo 1. They want grenades in the game like this.
I think they are a problem only because I can toss them in a small room where I know a teammate is being attacked and only hurting the enemy.
The lack of friendly fire I think is why they are so “useful,” there’s no risk to just lobbing them around.

Balance doesn’t happen in a vacuum. You nerf nades/nade spawns and teams who are set up are going to be monumentally harder to push against and snowballing is going to be much worse. It takes a modicum of experience playing these maps to learn where the dangerous spots are for nades and most times if someone is daring to bounce one at you in a 1v1 you can charge past the nade and press your advantage since you’ll now have an extra shot against them. This is a massive L2P issue.

I would be down with them being reduced to 1 frag every time you spawn
