For instance when fired 9 round from an assault rifle you kcan kill the opponent with a melee attack.

This is how it was Reach and it didn’t much sense. You can’t expect to block a strong attack with weak shields, it doesn’t make sense logically (even in a video game). In Reach, you could have 1 percent shields and melees would not bleedthrough. Only the Sniper had this mechanic IIRC.
The melee is where it should be and shouldn’t ever change. By that, i mean bleed through. It’s something to take into account when you go into CQC range. It’s something to learn. Rather than complain, learn how to play with Bleed through.
I have no trouble learning when to melee for an instant kill after firing a few rounds. You fail to realize that you can also abuse this gameplay mechanic. Your failure to do so does not make the mechanic “OP” as it’s anything but (Boltshot is different story with this same argument).
I thought it was overpowered at the beginning but now I think it really is just about right. Need 2 hits to get a kill or a hit and a burst shot from your gun.
What I don’t like though is the lunge because you only need a slight amount of lag and you never see them move and you die. It’s why I try to stay out of melee distance if I can help it. Not talking DMR range… just not “up your nostrils” range.
I love spamming 3 shots from a Magnum and slapping a dude’s face. It’s pretty effective.

Very. It makes CQC challenges easy to get. I laughed at how effective the 3 Mag shots+ melee is xD
Melee attack is fine… it’s more like a halo 3 style.
It’s overpowered! Spawning with an attack that, if you hit them in the back of the head, INSTANTLY kills them? You are spawning with a 1 shot kill weapon here!
Are you trying to suggest that the sword should be a two hit kill?
Melee damage is balanced.
The lunge though, is a bit disheartening. I’m fine with the melee the way it is though.

I agree. In this game all is vantage for strong connection.
These “have to be nerfed” “have to be buffed” threads must be trolls. This is too funny.
Nerfing the melee? The only reasonable nerf would be to nerf the time it takes to pull off two in a row, but even that’s not anything particularly serious.
All-in-all, just leave it how it is.
Making it so that it doesn’t bleed through makes aggressive, sprinting double beatdowns more dangerous.
Melee has always been a part of Halo. One-hit melees from behind are almost an iconic feature of the Halo universe, known as assassinations (even before the fancy canned animations).
The current melee system makes more sense than the one used in Halo 3 or Reach. The damage makes more sense, and the lunge has been reduced from Halo 3. Remember, Spartans are super soldiers with armor that enables them to flip vehicles and punch holes in tanks, and this is made obvious in plalists with vehicles. A half-charged energy shield simply isn’t enough to stop that kind of strength, and a fully charged one would only be able to stop it once.
