I just got hit with the banhammer. Reason? I have no clue, maybe becaue I got booted for inactivity whilst using the restroom? The notification gave no reason for the automated decision Either way, a ban due to a single instance is pretty damn ridiculous. If you’re going to use an automated system, make sure that it works properly. A decade of Live and participation in every Halo beta, and this is how I get treated. Banned for apparently no reason (for anyone who might try arguing that my biological needs constituent a reason, a single occurrence is not sufficient, -Yoink- happens – one can’t expect people to prioritize a game over real life). Glad I paid money to not play the game. Guess I’ll just play Forza instead. My concerns over this game grow (I’m looking at you, lack of split screen options). Hopefully someone over at 343 pulls their head out of the sand (ostrich style) and realizes that the real world exists and their customers will vote with their wallets, such shenanigans are unacceptable.

Temporary, but now it has disappeared. It’s quite odd, I think it was a bug/glitch. Still very disconcerting.
Just saw a similar post from another player but I think they’re still banned.
I quit one match for the exact same reason like 10 mins ago and got a temp ban I can only assume because they don’t notify you or even give you a time limit… Kinda BS if you ask me

Recent blog post seems to imply 343i’s aware of this and it’s an issue and not a feature; so the automated systems will be nerfed a bit soon.
I got hit with my first boot finally. Suicided twice in a game - Once backing off a cliff while fighting Warden on ARC, second when the “Game Lost” screen showed up I shot the ground with a rocket - and then it kicked me out just as the ending cinematic started to play 
Im up to an hour ban because of my fireteam apparently changing! Yet im playing by myself and have it on invite only. I be playing mid game it changed to a loading screen go back to menu amd says left fireteam, your fireteam has changed and i get banned for it and im not doing anything just trying to play this bloody game, this seriously needs to be fix
Maybe you should learn to not matchmake when using the restroom.
It does clearly state bans for quitting, inactivity, and friendly fire.
Or maybe he had to take a big -Yoink- from taco night… it happens and I feel your pain.
From what I hear this is a bug in the system. First offenders shouldn’t be banned for any length of time for quitting or being absent for a few minutes.
Three strikes should be the minimum. At least for quitting.

Halo 5 bann system is so broken. Make so u cant fall off make so u cant harm anyone in ur team
Ya the banhammer is ridiculous. Especially in regards to social playlist. Those playlists have join in progress ffs.

Instead of resurrecting dead threads, why don’t you have a go in the ban thread. You should also hard reset your console after each update.

It’s recommended for people who have issues after an update as well as for the retrieving data and left fireteam glitches. Not sure if any of those three are his issues, but it is a simple step that won’t take a lot of effort that solves a few different problems.
