Overgrowth Shotgun Gone???

A little confused on why 343i took the shotgun off of overgrowth instead of the sword. The sword on that map is OP, you cant stop it if you play it right. Its such and enclosed map that you cant get away from the sword when he is charging you and the only thing that could beat the sword was the shotgun. Now that it has been removed from the map, its almost impossible to kill the guy who has it. He sprints faster, it locks on to the enemy. You catch my drift? Now the shotgun, doesn’t lock on, you have a chance to kill him if he is charging you, and there is only 5 rounds in the gun. Now I know it re-spawns 10 seconds after dropping it with no ammo, but you still have a chance to beat the guy with shotty, almost impossible to beat the guy with sword.

Please give me feedback. I want to hear everyone’s take on this as I might be missing something on this.

Yeah it was a stupid move to keep the sword and remove the shotgun. What they should have done was moved the shotgun to where the sword spawned and just removed the sword. This way the shotgun + camo combo still exists on the map but, you have to work for it and the -Yoink!- shoulder charge from the sword is gone on that map. It’s simply too tight of quarters for it to be on there and work properly without another sword being added.

I think it was the Shotgun because it was a few steps away from the camo.

I agree with you. They should have moved the shotgun to where the sword is. A lot harder to get the combo that way.

Im glad if they took that shotgun off the damn map its easy to kill a sword guy but a shotgun being a zoomable ranged oneshot with hitscan makes it a lot harder to kill plus that would make the map have 3 power weapons and a camo on it if they kept it.

Magnum from range beats the sword pretty sure.

they should have removed como beacause the shotgun is the only thing that can stop the sword. Maybe have OS where the rail gun spawns.

Railgun, br, magnum, carbine, plasma grenade, and using the splinter grenades to cut off a door all can easily kill the sword with all those long hallways, railgun is extremely easy because the sword isn’t going to reach you in the short time it takes to charge and fire.

Yeah this is probably why it was taken out. They honestly should of just moved the shotgun further away from camo. Either way, it certainly makes the sword a lot more lethal on Overgrowth.

I haven’t played on Overgrowth in a while and I don’t remember the Sword being too powerful. I just remember spawning by the Shotgun and camo and winning the match. It seems like there was not much incentive to grab the Sword because it wasn’t able to kill someone with camo.

railgun maybe but half the time my teammate gets it and does not know how to h\use it. The BR not so much do the CQC of the map, yeah it can but a lot of the time i just see the sword run around and cut the BR user down on that map. Pistol same thing I said about the BR. plasma nade would work but the servers are kinda really -Yoink!- and yes I do have great internet. carbine again what I said about the Br. Splinter nades kinda don’t work on anyone that knows how to play halo, once they see the red dots they go around.

The only thing that really would work is the rail but I get what you are saying, thanks for the reply.

I don’t care what weapon they chose to remove- I’m just glad something was taken out in general. Overgrowth (and now Riptide) have way too many power weapons for the size of the maps. The other day I was playing on Riptide carrying a fuel rod, and beam rifle, was standing beside a hydra on the ground, and ended up getting killed by a second fuel rod. Like seriously why does the Hydra have to sneak it’s way onto every damn map?! As for overgrowth though, I’d prefer to have the energy sword as its more unique and a little under represented so far in Arena.

shotgun and sword are too strong on this map and it doesn’t help that camo is on this map too.

the sword is way to op for this map in my opinion
