Overall TU Satisfaction!

I know that I’m a little late with expressing any sort of opinion about the Halo: Reach Title Update, and that I was perhaps one of the most vociferous opponents of the TU, but I just had to post this in order to express my approval of 343i’s work.

First off is; Reticle Bloom: I liked how you guys didn’t completely do-away with the recoil of the DMR, but that you modified it so that the recoil wasn’t so extreme. I know that I shouldn’t really talk about realism and Halo in the same conversation, but the felt recoil of the DMR is a little more realistic, because even unaugmented soldiers who use similar Battle Rifles that fire the same 7.62mm round of our age can manage the recoil of their weapons a lot better than the Spartan III’s from Halo: Reach, even while firing their weapons faster than the Spartan III’s do (even though the 7.62mm round is still rather uncontrollable on fully-automatic fire.) I mean, the recoil in Halo: Reach really shines when you have to use the AR in short, controlled bursts at longer ranges, and I was hoping that 343i didn’t completely omit the recoil from Reach. Thanks.

Second off is; Armor Lock: Thank you for making it so that a person who enters Armor Lock is still putting themselves in a considerable amount of danger when they enter a battle, by allowing the AL to drain that-much-faster when damage is done to it.

Third off, and last, is; Shield Bleed: I don’t think that I was ever a proponent of Shield Bleed, only because if the player still has shield left, then it defeats the purpose, and invalidates the shield as a form of protection, to have damage seemingly arbitrarily go right through the shield, itself. But Bleed-Through is toned down from the original TU, and for that: I thank you.

Yes I like the title update but my biggest problem was bleed anything it was so over powered you could have shields and everything and then boom a bullet hits you and it turns into swat. I think when they were making the tu I think they were trying to make reach more like halo 3 but they shouldn’t of and fixed somethings but don’t take it as far as bleed. i mean its already enough that the dmr and all semi auto weapons have less recoil/bloom why make them more powerful

The TU is an overwhelming success for 3 reasons;

. The POPULATION has increased

. Big Game modes like Big Team Battle feel more balanced

. Brings back the Halo 3 formula which was always superior

343i should just revert back to default Reach.

Population is back up because Christmas happened. Also Anniversary brought in a lot of new people, whilst also functioning as a demo for Reach.

I actually tried BTB for the first time sine the TU the other night. It was a nightmare. Its basically zero bloom BTB since you got the space to sit down and take potshots at everything in huge maps. Spamming is terribad, theyve really stuffed up BTB imo.

And i agree with you that they tried to bring back the halo 3 formula. But i dont think thats a good thing.
