So from a purely gameplay standpoint I’m absolutely loving this game. Guns, movement, aim(still not perfect but hell of alot better than the tech preview), maps for the most part and for what few we have, vehicles.
Since this is a “beta” and it came to us early I’m trying my best to reserve my judgment for the official release date but some things just don’t seem to make sense. It’s getting annoying having to play game modes I or my buddies don’t want to play. Over and over and over and over again. We generally like to play slayer and some swat. So when we go 5 straight games of not getting a slayer match it gets frustrating. I don’t get why being able to select which mode you want to play is not in this game from the start. Also I haven’t seen anyone else mention this but where are our stats?? They’re not in the waypoint app they’re not in the game?? Or am I missing something?
Then of course the infamous progression system, battepass, and armor. From the start when I first seen what they said about the progression system I thought wtf I have protested against this since the very beginning of course my voice doesn’t carry through very far lol but I will never agree or understand why they would go this route why go with a good formula when you can throw in some bs. Never have I played any sort of game for as long as I can remember and put hours into it and have some damn good games within those hours and barely be a level 5 and that’s with paying for one of those levels! And they’re “fix”(I hope it’s a temporary one) was to make each match 50 xp? That is ridiculously low I truly don’t understand where these decisions come from I have been a 343 defender for years but with stuff like this I just can’t. And all this just in turn hurts the battepass and armor options. It takes forever just to unlock something and when it’s something as simple as a shoulder pad it can get quite annoying unless you were able to unlock these things a little faster getting to good stuff the smaller things wouldn’t hurt as much. I mean they’ve made a huge deal customizations but everyone I’ve seen has the same 2 helmets with a few different colors lol. Unless you’re rich and get some cooler colors from the store. And again I know we’re not even a week in and as time goes on hopefully if not most then all these things will get resolved. But as some who is a huge halo fan and is just happy that they’ve seemed to have nailed the core elements of this game with gameplay and such with what I said at first up top. I can only imagine new players or casuals coming into this game as it is now and seeing the issues I’ve mentioned and getting a bad first impression.
