Overall feedback and change suggestions

I’ve created this topic, because I couldn’t find the ‘general feedback topic’. Feel free to add your thoughts.

What I like:

  • gun sounds
  • gameplay
  • art style

What I don’t like:

  • game menu is clutterd
  • to close the game you have to open settings
  • horizontal list in customization menu

What I would change:

  • make needler sound more like breaking glass
  • grenade UI is kind of bad, because i have no idea what types I am carring.
  • BR and Commando zoom levels should be changed: BR -> 3x, Commando -> 2x

The problems I came across (Xbox series X Version):

Visuals:

  • No Gender Selection. All body types look very musculine with wide sholders. I would rather have a more feminine body type with wide hips, thicc and narrow sholders like I have. - Body Type 1 and 2 have some issues with the Scorpion Punch texture on the front side. The pattern on the sholder is messed up and looks like there is something wrong with the UV-Map. - The sholders of the Body Types 1 & 2 are very pointy. On the back side the sholder muscles are clipping through the first layer of the armor. - Additional Armor Parts have no color coding and look very clunky. - After dieing there is always a short black out. Thats super irritating. It would be better to remove it. - Camera stuck after dieing. A moveable camera after dieing would be nice to plan the next move or to see what killed you. - While selecting the body type the camera is locked so you can’t really see what the differences are from all sides. Rotating platform is highly needed. - In the German Version the word “Abgeschlossen” is overlaying the XP counter. That makes everything unreadable - Also in the German version please change the “Werkstatt” to “Shop” or something like that. Werkstatt may be acociated with Workshop which make german players thing it is the place you customize your Character. - There seem to be problems with the particles from the distance. They just appear as half transparent faces. Best seen on the Bazaar Map.Gameplay:

  • Daily Challanges can’t be swaped. It may cause trouble in the future when you have a bugged challange like the “play any pvp match 0/6” one - Sliding is too long and can’t be canceled. It feels like you are sliding across the entire map. A way to stop the slide would be nice. You can jump while sliding to cancel the sliding, but you keep the sliding momentum - Shields (the one you throw on the ground) needs to be faster and stronger. - Skewer seems to have a problem with the hitbox. Either it goes threw the body (especially the head) or the weapon deals no damage (happened to me once). - Loosing the zoom with long range weapons but keep the zoom with short range weapons when you get hit. That makes no sense to me because long range weapons become useless for console players. I know that zoom out feature has been part of the halo franchise, but it was for all weapons. Either keep the zoom for all weapons or remove the zoom for all the guns when getting hit. - XP are bound to challanges which limits the levels you can get in a week. Add points for completing a match. Something like 150 XP for a win and 100 XP for losing. Do not make the daily challanges all about playing a match. I have seen ppl rubber banding their controllers just to get the points. That could be exploited in the future so do change it. - The Daily challange “Play any PvP matches 0/6” is bugged and cant be swapped. - The menu seems to be so complex that not even the game can handle it. Sometimes the pause menu or similar are on top of another menu you are controlling. so you barely see anything. When you press star in the title menu and go to NEWS you can go to the Battle Pass and Store with that shortcut. It opens the Store but the nEWS menu is still up. That could lead to accidental purchases of unwanted items because you cant see anything. - Menu navigation with controllers needs to be more simple. I get very confused what to press to go to the menu I want to go to. - Bots always run to the same spot when the game starts and after killing them they respawn at the same spot. - There are 2 specific spots the bots have trouble with. Both are in the first map. 1 Spot is near the Dam where the Type-2 Antipersonnel Fragmentation grenade are. The bots have trouble to climb up the ledge in the tiny room and they constantly jumping around most of the time. Second one is upstairs the spot you start the game at. In the corner where the power box is right next to the Plasma Gun the Bots are getting confused and are unable to fight. - ODST Bots are ALWAYS crouching once in a gunfight after you hit them with a few shots. that is very predictable and needs to be randomized - If the Bots chose a Target they stick to that one even tho someone else runs directly in front of them - When 2 Players are picking up a respawning Weapon at the same time it will duplicate the weapon but makes 1 weapon completely useless. The Ammo of the duplicate does not deal any Damage since no Prejoctile is fired. - Spartan Bots are Spaming granades like crazy. Other than that ODST ans Spartan Bots feel almost the same. - When you run towards a Bot there is a high chance the Bot doesnt know what to do and panics.Sound:

  • Multiplayer Music does not fit to Halo. It sounds too much like No Mans Sky and I do not like it at all. Please make it more halo like. It is very tiresom to listen to and leaves you with a weird and numb feeling. - The current Female Voice (I think it’s the AI voice) sounds like Harley Quinn… too cheerful which makes it feel out of place. hope the other voices are better. Also, the female voiceactors line “Slayer Mode, no mercy. A HAHA…” is super cringe… It is so bad I straight up want to rage quit the game. - Team mates (the In-game characters) are commenting every action which is annoying after a while. An audio slider or option for the MP voices would be nice so I can have my silent Spartans again but keep the gasps sounds. - In the German version the Overshield causes a Sound Bug that removes ALL sounds. - There are no single voices for the german version so voices are exclusive for the english verrsion. I liked that somehow because the Spartans were all neutral, silent but made noices when getting hit or dieing like in the old days. - There is no Mute Button to Mute some players that have their Mic turned on, cranked it up to 100% and dont even talk. They just make weird noices which is only annoying. - Sound bug when joining a MP game that is half way through. The sound is very low except the sound of the Spartans dieing.What I personally liked:

  • Running speed and walking speed are not too different. That is good for old Halo players and newcomers that are used to run in a FPS. I also like that you can reload during running. - I really like the returning of the Halo Reach armor style and that tools like the grapling hook and shields are one time uses - The weapons feel and sound really good, but I personally avoid using long range weapons because of the zoom out problem when get hit. I would rather have a kick back movement when get hit than losing my zoom. It feels like the game is taking me away the control of my character and I hate it. - The bots are super nice. The behave like online players and are fair. Sometimes they are too quick with aiming to the head tho. Like make a complete 180° and shoot the head with the pistol from far away. - I LLLLOOOOVE how the Spartans fly away like crazy ragdolls after punching them in the right spot. Please never change that because it’s a highlight for me. Make them fly away like crazy is the best thing. Wished you could pin Spartans to the wall after hitting them with the Skewer Weapon. Would be a little gruesome but super funny and crazy. Ppl loved that stuff in Dead Space or F.E.A.R. - I really like the map design. They are dynamic and have crouch spots where you can take shortcuts.Here is my Playlist of me playing the technical preview:
