OVER POWERED MAGNUM IN BETA

I played the “tu beta” on Halo Reach and every few seconds i would get killed with 2 or 3 shots to the head. I ask that 343 industries changes the damage of the magnum so us rifle/shotgun guys can have a fair chance. thanks.

343 said the Magnum is still currently 4 shots to the head for a kill, it’s just death occurs faster due to zero-bloom. The classic 3-shot Magnum (the true overpowered Magnum) won’t be seen until the 15th.

Yeah it is bring back that old magnum back if you hate that’s your problem and you have to teal with it.

Not quite correct. The power of the magnum is due to two things:
[/li]- Bleedthrough health through shields

  • Reduced/Removed Bloom.

The game types avaliable in the TU Beta playlists are not “Anniversary” Gametypes, they are testing the Title Update. In the TU beta, the Magnum is a 4 shot kill, in Anniversary, it will be 3 shot, with a lower rate of fire.

the old magnum was fun and good, but very unbalanced and outside lan its unpredictable.
Not to mention reachs mag’s ROF. The thing needs to be nerfed or stay in ZB where it is.
Its worked for CE lan, it hardly worked for CE online (I am referring to the gamespy servers), and it doesnt work for halo reach online.

In the TU Beta, the Magnum takes 4 headshots to kill. It’s suppose to reflect the Halo: CE magnum, which was a 3 shot kill, however the TU Beta Magnum feels so overpowered is because of its intense rate of fire. I believe, when the Anniversary matchmaking update is released, the rate of fire will be decreased, or it’ll go back to a 5 shot kill.

I haven’t played Reach in quite a while. I played 1 game today on the TU Beta playlist. I was using the pistol to my advantage, I admit it is quite over powered due the the rate of fire. However, it is still quite hard to nail in the head if your shooting like a madman. I loved the feel of it, it felt like CE in a sense, but the ROF is what is not accurate. Cannot wait till the 15th to get my true pistol back. =D

Yes, you always spawn with it, but that does not necessarily make it fair.

The spread on the pistol makes it too random to be used in serious fights. You can get lucky and have the spread not be very much and 4-shot you opponent in half of a second, or you could have the spread be huge and miss every shot.

Example: Two people have their magnums out. They are on level ground, equal health, and they are not moving. They start firing at the exact same time; one has little spread and kills in 4 shots, while the other has bad spread and does not get the kill after firing the whole clip out.

The pistolinconsistentnsistant at the moment and should be addressed.

In my opinion the pistol’s spread should be reduced to what we have seen in gameplay for CEA, the RoF should stay the same, but it should either be a 5 or 6 shot kill–wbalancesr balences out better with the rest of the sandbox.

It’s the same pistol(clip size and everything) only no bloom.

Spread > Bloom in that it makes it difficult to long range with it.

Close to semi mid range and it wreaks havoc.

It’s a beta.
343 were only testing bloom settings/bleed through/updated Armor Lock, Camo.
Anniversary Classic will contain a fully automatic, slower rate of fire Magnum that will balance the changes. This Magnum will also contain 12 rounds in one clip, not 8.

The pistol needs to have its spread reduced. Right now Pistol vs Pistol fights are complete dice rolls.
