Over FX budget. please help

Hey guys would anyone be able to help me out with a small issue? In my most basic map (octagon) i am wondering why my fx budget is over 100%. I know it is fine to play on but I feel like it is suffering a frame rate drop due to being over budget. What builds the fx percentage? The only thing I have done cosmetically is change panel colours and a few decals. Also it is forged on the parallax canvas. Do invisible blockers or teleporters affect the fx budget? I’m scratching my head trying to figure it out, please help me out if you know of any solutions. Thanks guys :slight_smile:

I know that when I grouped too many trees and duplicated everything went off the wall, whereas in small bits it was fine.

Promethean weapons can cause an increase in both lightmap and FX. If you use a lot of lights with or without cones and smoke then you will suffer framerate and FX. if you have lots of the bar lights try changing every other ones range to 0 so it sheds 0 light. this will fix framerate.

FX raises with effects. Hence FX. Effects are smoke, sounds, sparks, etc. Lights really only raise lightmap but if you have too many overlapping in one area you will get framerate issues. Glass can cause issues aswell.

Thanks for the input guys. No god, I downloaded a map or 2 from you the other week, can’t remember what tho lol. As for my fxbudget issue I have since found out it was the large group of weapons I had around the edges of the octagon. It was also the teleporters I had scattered around and removing those brought new down from 196% to 116% I used the same map to make another and as soon as I removed the weapons the fxbudget went down almost 100%.

I don’t know
