yes I definitely agree with that but i would like the end to be more obvious.
I mean, from my perspective, Chief’s story finished 14 years ago… so I won’t disagree with you there!

Actually, I agree with that. They didn’t need to continue on with Chief, but they did anyway. It’s kind of annoying. It’s taken until Infinite and the TV series for me to like him. (And yes, two very different but somewhat similar versions.)
Before that it was always, “Eh, whatever. He’s interesting I guess. Tell me more about Thel or Linda please?”
uh
how can it be more obvious than killing The Gravemind?
There have been multiple graveminds throughout Halos history with the first one being worshipped by humans.
Yes! a game where we could play as any cannon spartan in the universe from Sam-32 to Linda-087 would be awesome!!
The Flood is a centralized network. You’re speaking in ifs and maybes, but the concrete thing we know is that Gravemind as we know it was destroyed.
iFS AND MAYBES??? I assure you that this is all halo cannon.
Exzactly, THE ONE WE KNOW OF IS DESTROYED… you admitted that the only one we know of is gone.
Okay, honest question. What ever, EVER gave you the impression that there was ever more than one Gravemind? That’s how The Flood works. It is VERY CLEAR in Halo 3, that the Gravemind we’re dealing with is the same one that fought and outlasted The Forerunners.
There has only ever been ONE Gravemind. Even other nodes that The Flood build, are JUST conduits for THE Gravemind. It’s in the name! It’s the mind of the grave!! It’s THE singular mind of The Flood! All the bodies, all the thoughts, all of the things that constitute The Flood, are singularly, The Gravemind.
also, canon*.
EDIT: Here, straight from the wiki.
The relationship between individual Graveminds, and specifically whether the mobile forms under the control of one Gravemind would be influenced by another, is not entirely clear. The Forerunners theorized that since the Graveminds are entirely identical in terms of personality and goals, it would be impossible to discern any meaningful distinction between them. In addition, separate collectives under the control of individual Graveminds will seek to connect and coalesce into a unified whole. It would appear as though multiple Graveminds existing simultaneously simply causes them to function as highly powerful processing nodes for the overall Flood intelligence, essentially acting as key mind forms on an exceptionally large and complex scale. In essence, no matter how many individual Graveminds form, there is still only one Gravemind intelligence.
Just because the gravmind is gone doesn’t mean the flood has been completely destroyed the lore implies that they will always find a way to return especially when there was multiple locations that have samples of the flood for studying on a more permanent solution to the issue
The Gravemind died, but after these events there was a Flood outbreak on the Ark in that Wars 2 DLC, which means the flood can function with a Proto-Gravemind controlling them, which of course will evolve into a full Gravemind at some point. Even though both the last full Gravemind and only known Proto-Gravemind have been destroyed, how do we know there aren’t any more Proto or full Graveminds out there?
Well, yeah, they don’t even need a proto-gravemind. We see the beginning of The Flood’s outbreak in Halo: CE - they’d been mostly well contained since then.
Well, largely because Gravemind absolutely consolidated his forces at High Charity. We saw the ship he sent out - and honestly, with how quickly Rtas followed? I honestly believe that was the only ship to get out of the battle.
We have zero reason to believe The Flood has not been completely defeated.
Yes, there are still spores out there - there’s samples on probably every Halo. But there are no graveminds left.
If one were to emerge, it would be the same Gravemind. It has always been this way. The Gravmind is a singular entity, as intelligent and broad in reach as everywhere Flood are. But they do need Proto-Graveminds to connect, and any of those can become graveminds, but they are all one Gravemind.
The Flood IS The Gravemind, The Gravemind is The Flood.
That is how these types of hive minds work. There is not a delineation in the slightest. Each form is another set of eyes for him to see through, each broken mouth, to speak through.
The Flood is one thing. The Gravemind, is one thing.
And he has not been allowed to regain himself ever since 2552. I hope it stays that way.
This is more the reason why they need a Proto-Gravemind: to help them rebuild!
Still dislike most weapons and feel the game has the most barebones, boring sandbox of the series.
AR, BR, Needler, Rockets (when working), Hydra, Skewer and that Forerunner shotgun are fine. Do what they should do and are fairly reliable.
Sword and Hammer would be on that list if they were more reliable. Sometimes lunges work, often not or the distance of it just randomly changes. Hammer area of effect still usually is off. Same goes for Grenades. Half of the time they’re blanks and the Forerunner bouncy shot thing has that too.
Then the ‘meh’ section:
Sniper is too difficult to use. Feels too inaccurate and loose while aiming. Both electric weapons are okay but disposable.
Then the Commando. I hate it. I really hope it’ll never return in future Halos. Just give me the SAW and DMR it tried to replace badly.
Stalk Rifle too. Trying to replace both the Carbine and Beam Rifle but being just boring to use. Besides ot never feels like you shoot anything. Massive disconnect with this weapon.
Plasma Carbine. I mean. It’s better than it was. It still isn’t the Rifle or Repeater.
Ravager. Never has a weapon in Halo looked as uninspired from first person perspective as this one.
Mangler. Just a stupid thing. Boring to use. It being included in SWAT made me hate it more.
And I probably forgot more. Infinite needs more weapons and less “it needs to be balanced perfectly” mentality. More weapons means more fun and more variety. Also, 343i should really just stop trying to replace classic stuff with their own versions that just aren’t as much fun. /rant.
I really enjoy the cinder shot. I wish that it was integrated into the tanked playlist. That would make me very happy.
It did not try to replace either of these at all. You hate it because you’re using it like those. That is silly. It is based off of The Rain of Oblivion, from Halo 5 - and further takes after low RoF auto rifles from Destiny 2.
That’s cap of the highest order.
Bet there’s a lot u dent know so I’ll just assume you dont know.
There’s plenty I know. But when it comes to Halo… I proooooobably do know.
It really is. The Senny’s fantastic.
UNSC:
Assault Rifle: Probably my favourite since Combat Evolved
Battle Rifle: The O’ Reliable since Halo 2
Commando: I quite like this weapon, it has a unique learning curve, once I got used to it I found it to be a good weapon
Sidekick: H5 Gunfighter Magnum, strong a versitile for its size, bloom is a pain with it but
Hydra: I never like switching to Homing, I find it’s a lot better to use it as standard
S7 Sniper: I find this to be a good sniper when your aim doesn’t fight against it, but I still consider that CE Sniper to be the best Sniper
Bulldog: I prefer the old Shotgun, but I also do love grabbing the Bulldog of the rack
Rocket Launcher: Blast Radius get stuffed when Desync is in play but it’s still a really good rocket as always, but I do wish it had tracking on Air vehicles
Covie/Banished:
Ravager: I think it works pretty well, Charge shot is good for entry/platform denial & I say it’s pretty good for what it offers
Pulse Carbine: I hated this at the start until I’ve gotten used to it’s pattern, glad the buff made it a bit better
Needler: A fun, good & unique weapon to use in Halo
Stalker Rifle: A Deadlier Carbine variant
Shock Rifle: to me it’s the better sniper, the EMP makes it good also
Disrupter: when Desync doesn’t touch it, it’s very good to have as a secondary + good against to emp vehicles
Skewer: Primal Spartan Laser
Plasma Pistol: Pocket Shield Ripper
Forerunner:
Sentinel Beam: probably the best version we have yet
Cindershot: Freaking good to use
Heatwave: I say it’s good to use, especially with the Ricochet shots
Grenades:
Frag: ![]()
Plasma: ![]()
Spike: So good for small rooms
Dynamo: Still reckon the max should be 1 Carry with these
I don’t have a problem with the AR or Bulldog. But the Heatwave has a serious problems only because when it bounces off the wall the shots come back to you instead of going towards the enemy which gets you killed most of the time. I still don’t see how that weapon is better than the Scattershot. The weapon sandbox in Halo 5 was a hundred times better than these broken weapons in Infinite
without the charge up …OP
Im abt to push two kills with spike nade rn, Jk (Honestly IDK if I even have One LOL)
!00% everybody hates on it but it seriously shreds!
In my opinion It is the worst rockets we have had yet.
My new favorite weapon especially after the new event.
agreed.
This baby shreds if you have good aim.
OP after buff
so satisfying
sry but cant agree with this one ![]()
Honestly you have the right Idea though!
