Problem is though the ground is not solid. I’m not complaining, as it is technically where the player isn’t supposed to go, however a solid ground would make for great out-of-map gameplay.
I want to play a level like that in campaign WOW! just awesome

Yeah, it’s a shame there is no solid ground, and there probably isn’t a big forge budget to try anything as a compromise

Hmm. You can use the Large Containers to make some large platforms, as they will just sit on the bottom and have a little bit sticking up for you to stand on.
A network of bridges (catwalk peices) and the normal blocks phased in, and you can have a good platform to run around on.
Make it known that the sand is quicksand or something, and stay on the platforms.
Also, we can’t forge too close to the map, as there is a death barrier there.

You can, however there aren’t many pieces to work with, and at that they aren’t very big.

You need to set your platforms to phased and lower than just below the sand, and it’ll look like you’re walking in sand 
There is actually an under"map" space about the height of a Large Container. There is a pretty good sized area to forge in as well, actually pretty cool. Though thePelicans are detextured and incomplete the farther you go, but they aren’t solid anyway.
I’m excited for people to use this! Maybe Doubles maps, or get fancy with some “Flood” maps or minigames.

Cant. Death barrier is just above sand level, although i have a map with the general livable area laid out with killballs at the boundaries. Look in my FS

Actually you have to go a bit farther out and then that sand barrier is gone. Then you have room beneath the sand the size of a Large Container.
Damn! I just finished editing a video to show how to walk around out there too. People already beat me to it lol. Good job people, now lets make some maps/machinimas out there!
