Out of the box DLC suggestion

First off In Halo CE I was awed by the massive maps and the over all experience of the game. In Halo 2 I was awed by the Multi-player, the maps, the duel weapons and the feeling that anything could happen to change the out come of the match. In Halo 3 I was awed by the graphics, the competitiveness, the forge, and the balance that was brought to matchmaking. In Halo Reach the graphics got better and the campaign was improved a little but there was nothing that awed me about it.

In Halo 4 there looks to be a lot of improvements, weapons, maps, campaign and the over all look to the game. Will Halo 4 leave me in awe like the roots of the halo franchise has done in the past? I don’t know.

Here it is, if the console can handle it. Create a map so large its three or four times the size of Hemorrhage. A map that is symmetrical and has a competitive edge. Unlike Hemorrhage fill it in with buildings and interactive objects, like the gates on Longshore. Instead of just gates make other interactive objects perhaps a elevator for a tank or two tanks. No inter active objects that can be used as a weapon though, just things like draw bridges, gates, perhaps a hovering object that a player can release to give them a advantage. I obviously have a big team battle map in mind so there would have to be a open area or two for vehicles to control. There would also have to be ways for players to travel around the map quicker portals, man cannons, grav-lifts and a good amount of vehicles, air and land that transport players. You could bring back some movable objects like the creates on Halo 2’s Water works. Something a tank could push to create a temporary short cut for the any ground troops in the area.

I don’t like the feeling that I’m being punished for a small mistake so please fall damage off, as i’m sure any new player to the game would appreciate the little things that give them a second chance. Keep a team’s or a individual players options open. If a team gets over run give them a choice to take a different route to flank or sneak around a team with their guard down in that area. The object I have in mind is to keep everyone entertained. Whether if your a Halo veteran or someone who picked up the game for the first time. I would like a map that I could play for weeks and suddenly I find something new to explore.

Development on DLC before the game is finished is unethical. it takes away development time that could have been put towards the game itself, and therefore shouldnt be day 1 DLC. if it was made durring dev time, it should be on the disk for the player to enjoy without having to pay extra for something they payed full price for.

But, I do like the idea, and it would make more sense to treat it more like the “Mecromancer” class DLC for BL2: people who preordered the game will get it free WHEN IT IS FINISHED, that way, time isnt taken away from the game’s development, and preorderers get a little extra for the $10+ extra they paid.

Yeah, because sarcasm everyone loved buying ME3’s From Ashes DLC

In other words, day 1 DLC is -Yoinking- stupid. If it was made with the main game’s production budget, it should be in the game. No questions asked.

Microsoft is nowhere near as stupid as EA to tempt those waters, especially after the “Awesome game turned into a trainwreck” known as ME3

I was not intending day 1 DLC. I am sure 343 Studio’s will add DLC later on. I just figured with Halo 4 coming out in less than two months, they have no time to add a lot of content. They probably are working on bugs and tweaking the game for matchmaking.

I changed my mind… Create a map that changes building locations, weapons, everything. each time you play it there will be at 2 or 3 possible different map setups that change how you play the match. The same buildings/weapons/vehicles/cover will still be in all the setups but they will move to slightly different locations each game or maybe rotate just to get a different look. This doesn’t sound like a huge deal but I think would create a little twist to the game.

Or maybe they could just invert the whole map.
