Just had a thought, what if when you were 100% empty for both weapons, you get to see a neat little indicator in that you put both weapons away and draw your knife? Doesn’t give you any advantages, just a visual thing since you are stuck with melee. Could give a special medal for getting melee kills while stuck running around with no ammo.
I think the next evolution is that ammo applies to the physics of the game and the less ammo or heavy weapons u carry > the faster you run/jump/slide… nuff said right…

What if u could in the next dlc select armor that had diff shield strengths with a heavier power source that slowed the mobility… helmets that had two shot headshots… or whatever doc halsey cane up with… diff ammo capacity… weapon weights like the sidekick added sword like speed boosts… the list goes on infinitely
But as per ur comment… I would say auto one hit beat downs when out of ammo is awesomesauce (My twist) but the second dlc also needs better ninja beat down battles…
To continue, I wouldn’t say like tekken but at least a system where beat downs on head are one hit kills and overriding chest punches
Maybe some mobility disabling for a chest beat down…
That would be sick. I like the idea of using a knife to melee instead of punching anyway

I… what? No, just a visual thing, otherwise people would be dumping ammo to have an infinite energy sword, pretty much. That’s a terrible idea lol
Could be neat, however it’s quite rare to run out ammo for both weapons. I think the switch up to knife also gives players false expectations that a knife will be a one hit kill and could be confusing especially for new players (since Halo Infinite is going Free to Play for MP).
