I always wanted to be able to throw down my gun and beat the crap out of people with my fists after I run out of ammo in halo just because there’s a part in almost every halo where you don’t have a gun but can’t do anything.
That would be pretty cool TBH…

I disagree. In Halo, if you run out of ammo, you either switch to your secondary weapon or pick up a new one. If you want to melee, you can do so while holding a weapon.
I do melee a lot so I’d like this.

I was thinking about that which is why your fists would act exactly like a standard melee attack but look more awesome.
People barely use their guns as it is…
I see a majority of the population sprinting at each other while trying to melee, so this already exists.
This would be EPIC… but I don’t see it happening outside of campaign…
This is the same thing as sidearms. Why can’t we just go into melee mode at will?
I’ll say yes, but only if I can do it any time. Besides, if the weapon’s dropped, wouldn’t that mean any weapon I walk over, I’d pick up?

It’s a first person SHOOTER. You can melee anytime you want - with or with out ammo.
Why would a spartan want to go into a fist fight when he can basicly use a gun to smash the head of another spartan or use his energy whatever knife that pierce armor.
It already there with certain weapons. I say no to this one.
If you find yourself without a gun, you need to either get better or stop camping. Streaks that leave you with you no ammo are the only exception.

I believe the knife you are referring to Is from republic commandos. But Spartans are trained in martial arts so that would be one reason if we are talking about a practical reason but I just thought it would look cool.
COMBO BREAKER!
The only reason I like the idea of players holding no weapons and being able to melee is to have zombies spawn without guns in infection. In multiplayer it would just encourage players to beat each other down more, which I would likely troll with a lot and would be amusing, but ultimately not very good for the game.
