Halo was built on split screen, LAN and “virtual couch” sessions. This social side of Halo is what I believe made the game what it is today.
In much the same vein that the brokenness of joining others put so many off MCC since its launch.
Since the party system was broken many of us have lost party buddies who would have played MCC. Some sold the games, others sold their xboxes, some didn’t sell either but have not interest in booting up the game.
I don’t want to discuss “if” not “when”, if it’s too late or pointless. I want to discuss positive steps that could bring back old players, and convince new ones to jump in to MCC.
So when it is fixed, who will be hosting LAN parties, splits screen “lads” nights and filling their feeds with videos of the game?.
As fans we aren’t responsible for keeping people interested in a game. 343 got a standing ovation when they announced this game…and they bent us all over. We don’t have a “duty” to save their player base. They are the only ones responsible for the lifespan of this game. I hosted a LAN night the week this game came over. 16 guys, 4 boxes. We got to play ONE game over the course of 6 hours due to problems with the game. It disgusted me how broke this game was/is.
All we can do is wait until the game is actually fixed, THEN we can start inviting friends and family back into trying to play the TMCC. I don’t even bother trying to play mp any more with friends or family. It is simply not worth our time.
ONce the game is actually working properly, that is when I will try to get friends and family back into playing the mp. But for now I just tell them to not even waste their time. I get questioned on a daily basis. “Is the MP fixed yet?”. I say “Nope”.

I’m extremely disgusted as well. I’m not suggesting this as a way to help MS or 343i out. I want this game to survive so that we have something to play. I have no interest in Halo 5 for many reasons.
I feel no obligation to 343i or MS, or even Halo anymore. I feel it for the community. You deserve your LAN parties, and i deserve my weekend MM.
