Welcome to one of what I assume to be many Halo 4 concern threads to come. Let’s try and keep things a bit neater and isolate our grievances in only a few topics. You are more than welcome to add any of your own questions or concerns about Halo 4 in this thread. If a sticky topic is made, I will link it here.
Originally, this post was created to answer a few questions I had about Halo 4. The community provided me with a few ideas, some of which I knew myself, but prompted more questions and dialogue. As such, I edited the OP to redirect this threads purpose. It is my new goal to have a single point of reference discussing the Halo community’s concerns about Halo 4.
To start things off, the original list of questions may be found within the first spoiler tag. I have added plausible answers to each question offered from community members. The answers colored in green are ones that seem fairly accurate in accordance with factual information. Items in red are answers needing revision or further explanation from official sources. The second spoiler tag contains a very much abbreviated list of concerns members of the Halo community have about Halo 4. They are statements developed from the information we have been provided thus far. Feel free to browse both lists at your leisure.

List of Statements

The majority of mutliplayer combat appears much more similar to Reach’s style of gameplay or current triple-AAA FPS/TPS games. Having the ability to spawn with different armor types, weapons, grenades, armor abilities, or armor mods does not even come close to the kind of multiplayer balance or feel the original trilogy championed.
-
It is not possible for Halo 4 to be accurately described as CoD, Gears, Battlefield, Crysis, or any other FPS/TPS game… “By alternating redundant magnetic streams at the rear of a Spartan’s armor, the Firepower Package overrides regulated loadout limitations, allowing users to carry two primary weapons simultaneously. For Spartans who prefer heavier or longer-ranged firepower over close-range versatility and speed, this package is typically considered imperative.”
-
Halo 4 will not be dominated by a one-gun mentality like several of its prior cousins. Instead, it will use the long awaited two-gun mentality (BR/DMR). It would be very nice if it were possible to use all items in the sandbox effectively instead of a select few, yet that’s all simply speculation.
-
Regardless of how negligible the differences might be, many items of the sandbox, Loadouts included, can be unlocked, purchased, and customized for our own personal use in standard ‘competitive’ mutliplayer.
-
I’ve never rented a Halo game before, but knowing what little we do about multiplayer and the trend things seem to be heading…Halo 4 is shaping up to be just that. I respect the campaign and story enough to at least rent the game. I hope I’m wrong about the multiplayer.
