Title seems weird, but this topic is all about the two inferior assault rifle type of weapons that are not USNC. Suppressor and Stormrifle.
Don’t get me wrong, these guns can work but only in such limited conditions.
And I do love the idea of making the suppressor a heat seeking weapon. But for the range suppressor has, the damage is way too weak. Note that AR shoot accurately from much further distance and with similar damage.
I don’t think suppressor needs range boost due to heat seek but being faster killer than AR on its ideal range would be much reasonable, afterall in Warzone this is a “power weapon” that requires REQ cards to get or pick up from enemies making it a lot more limited.
Stormrifle is super strong taking off the shields and generally killing, if you don’t miss any shots and needing to be extremely close.
This rifle spreads when you shoot with it quite a bit, making its ideal range even lesser than suppressor. Not only this but the weapon overheats commonly before target even dies. Partly because the spread easily makes you miss shots especially if target manages to thruster backwards enough to leave that very short ideal range.
Also, stormrifle energy drains fast and again, this is a “power weapon” that is inferior to AR in most situations.
Probably should make that stormrifle lasts longer than it does now and wont overheat so quickly.
I am sure these two weapons are not the most favorited ones by players but they are part of the commendations, making them limited and underpowered in many situations makes it very tedious to even get the tiny amount needed to get that one emblem from each weapon.
Balance is always great to have along with variety.
Note that I have completed both of these weapons commendations. I cannot say it was fun due these factors I brought up. Hopefully someone who starts looking into completing them wouldn’t have to go as much annoyance.

Wait what? I literally drop my AR for a Storm Rifle every time I see one. Also if you burst fire the Storm Rifle is extremely effective outside it’s intended range. Rarely does the Storm Rifle ever over heat for me, you need to get the timing right. If anything in my play time I’ve found the weapon to be slightly overpowered.
The Suppressor… eh there’s far better options out there on the battlefield.
I did try using the burst tactic with storm rifle, AR kills faster due to the range it can have on storm rifle without having to burst.
Different story if you get a good jump on them but without surprise I always had to watch storm rifle beaten badly.
Idk…i get good kills with the suppressor. Storm rifle is decent too. Of course i havent got the commendations so maybe id hate them if i had to spend that much time with them. But theyre only 1 or two req energy, so they cant be to OP. Maybe a faster firing rate/slightly increased range for suppressor? I think storm rifle is fine, maybe they could tighten the spread just a tad.
Tbh i always thought of the suppressor as more of an SMG, probably cuz thats how it behaved in halo 4
Sorry but from what I read all I can say is git gud

Storm rifle is req 1 but suppressor is req 2.
Meanwhile it is limited you have to use up req points for weapons that are commonly beaten by loadout spawn.
I agree that they cannot be way overpowered, hence asking to increase amount till storm rifle overheats and making it have more shots before it is empty and suppressor having slightly buffed damage.

Noted, ignored.
Come back with a better post.
LMFAO. Dude the Storm Rifle is by far one of the strongest weapons that’s not a power weapon. It kills in .96 seconds, faster than any other non-power weapon and the overheating is not hard to control. Pro players go out of their way to pick up this thing. I can’t fathom how terrible you’d have to be to think this could ever need a buff.

I don’t have the same result as you. I rarely lose to an AR when I’m one on one using the Storm Rifle. It’s a quickly become my go to weapon behind the Pistol.
The Storm is the next weapon I have been making a conscious effort to use in order to complete the commendation for it. Some good tips on this page so far

Yeah I can’t even begin to imagine the SR with a boost. It would almost be game breaking.
What you said makes sense mostly because of the point that they are supposed to be power weapons. They are supposed to give you an advantage over the opposition, not hold you back. Not to mention hey need REQ points to be spent on them.

It is not hard the otherway around either, I commonly do kill storm rifle users when I have AR. I simply have to thruster backwards and keep running backwards and it almost everytime gives me advance for AR to win.
FYI. I hear a lot of players say about storm rifle overheating before you get a kill from full shields. I hear and acknowledge that burst type of shooting is needed to control it but then tbh you need the jump on players to use burst so that you do not die right away.
Also, in warzone storm rifle is a power weapon.

Honestly, this does seem to have some validity…
The storm rifle is an extremely good weapon. It’s really good for long endurance combat at close range. If it’s range is exceeded, then switch to secondary magnum or battle rifle. The storm rifle should not be underestimated, unless someone really doesn’t know how to use it. I don’t use suppressor as much but seems like several times it does
beat out the assault rifle.
And I mostly don’t need to worry about overheating… Either the enemy is dead or I stop firing for a very tiny bit, say thrusted pack, and it’s good.
Ehhhhh… no. I much prefer both the storm rifle AND the suppressor. In fact, i take the storm rifle over even my SMG. Still takle my smg over the suppressor, but only just.
I agree with a slight damage boost to the surpresser but the stormrifle is strong as it is
They are completely different weapons with completely different characteristics with completely different ways of using them, and are meant to be used for different scenarios. The balance is fine it doesn’t need changing it is just entirely situational.
I think the stirm rifle is closer to the smg than to the assault rifle
I think the suppressor and storm rifle are good middle grounds between the AR and SMG. They are both in my opinion superior to the AR. Range honestly should not matter in this argument, as you should not be trying to use an auto rifle at mid range regardless, that is what your magnum is for. Also, it sounds to me like you are using the Storm Rifle wrong. It does overheat very rapidly but at the same time it cools off just as fast. You need to lay on the trigger until the heat gauge turns orange, then let off for a split second and it will shoot back into the blue. You can do this two or three times during a gunfight and still have a faster kill time than you would get from a single long burst out of the AR.
