If you could pick 3 other Spartans that are still alive to be in Infinite, who would you choose?
- Fred. - Kelly. - Linda.
- Jerome - Alice - DouglasI doubt Red Team and their story arc from HW/HW2 will be in Infinite, but those are my choices. Perhaps the two stories could be brought together in the end of the game, but that might complicate Infinite’s story.
- Buck
- Fred
- Locks - even tho i didnt like his writing
locke*
If they do come back, id like then to have each role so they feel different and sometimes separate like the noble team.

Buck,
is not a Spartan anymore, he left and set up Alpha Nine.

I thought he was still a Spartan-IV? He just regrouped with Alpha Nine who were also Spartan-IV’s I believe. Then again, I haven’t read any of the books, only part of Bad Blood.

If I may help clear things up: Buck is still a Spartan-IV. Once you are a Spartan, you can’t go back. There are too many physical, neurological, chemical, biological, etc augmentations made to the body for a person to ever go back to normal. Not to mention ONI wouldn’t put that much investment into you for you to just quit one day.
It’s been long enough, so I’m just gonna leave off the Spoiler Warning. During the events of Bad Blood, he left Fireteam Osiris in order to reform Alpha-Nine courtesy of an assignment from Veronica Dare. Once reformed, he officially took over the leadership duties of that unit.

Isn’t HW2 leading up to Infinite? I don’t think its unreasonable that one or all may make an appearance.
No Spartans would be preferable, but that doesn’t seem the direction this franchise is going to take anymore.

HW2 and Halo 5 were tied together. With the time jump Infinite has one can only question if the Spirit of Fire and its crew will be in Infinite.
But I’d definitely love to see Blue and Red Team meet up again

I was pretty sure something was said in the promotion of HW2 that we’d be seeing Atriox again. I could be wrong so I’d think there’d be some tie in.

To address StateKDizzy, HW2 had a solid tie-in to H5 with the Guardian showing up in the ending cut scene, but that’s all we have so far. I certainly hope the SoF will be brought back into the fold, but 343 has stated that they are making a simple story that will be a good entry point for new fans. So adding in the HW story line might muddy the waters a bit for casual fans.
As for seeing Atriox again, that might be a reference to the potential HW3 game, assuming that will be released in the future. But if that is a reference to Infinite, I would be so happy to see the Banished show up in that game. But as stated above, it might be a bit complicated to add in the HW story line to a game that 343 has already stated will be a simple story that new fans can jump into.

I don’t like having other Spartans in the game. You felt special in Halo 1-3 because you weren’t just a Spartan; you were THE Spartan.

If I could chime in with my own “Um, Actually…” moment, it is possible to be de-Spartanized, as it were. We see this with Randall Aiken, formerly Randall-037; most of his augmentations were removed by ONI as part of a deal that would allow him to remain away from the UNSC. It’s not an easy process but it is doable with Spartan-II augmentations. Spartan-IV augmentations have some similarities (but also differences) compared to Spartan-II augmentations, but while some of the augmentations are considered irreversible, others could be reveresed, though not easily.
EZ PZ.
Fred, Linda and Kelly. I REALLY hope Blue team appears in the game. I don’t expect it, but a guy can hope.

That’s an excellent point. I forgot about good ole Randall. So I guess there is a possibility for limited de-augmentation, but for the most part, it seems there is little beyond what Randall went through. Otherwise, I’d imagine Halsey would have come up with some protocols to repair the augmentation washouts that couldn’t be re-augmented. Candidates like Soren-066 might have benefited from a de-augmentation process.
Incidentally, if Randall could be de-augmented, perhaps there is hope for Soren, should he ever resurface in the lore.

It honestly doesn’t look that way; according to one of the Halo information dumpers (HiddenXperia, HaloFollower, etc), it seems we might be getting 3 new (well, semi new as we’ve never seen them before) Spartan-II’s which is kind of a bummer. I grew to love Blue Team and was hoping to have them stick around since we literally got so little of them in Halo 5 that you might as well have not had them at all. Their characters were kind of poorly written; people felt like Kelly was just Blue Team’s exposition girl while others felt like Linda talked a bit too much. And apparently most of her commentary was bland and unneeded. Fred was probably the only semi-interesting one but they all simply suffered from bad writing.
Personally, I’d love to have either Fred, Kelly, and Linda back or Jerome, Alice, and Douglas. Maybe even select three Spartans from your friends list, one of which could even be your Spartan-IV.

Just for clarity, those new Spartan-IIs are in the Halo TV show, not Halo Infinite. I believe it was stated that the timeline for it is set around the end of the Human-Covenant War, so most likely they’ll end up biting the dust.

I would be ok with that, I had hoped that it was miscommunication and that it wasn’t going to be something tied to Infinite.
1: Nobody
2: Nobody
3: You guessed it… Nobody.
Maybe seeing some of them in some cutscenes or something would be nice? Like if Halo Wars 2’s story gets linked, then yeah Red Team should definitely be there, but aside from that the Halo franchise was just so much better to me when it was essentially just Master Chief vs. the world. You as the player were the true beacon of hope for everyone, everyone knew you were the only one who could do your job, but that was sorta hampered when the newer Halos began introducing whole squads and groups of other Spartans. I wouldn’t be too opposed to seeing some cutscenes or voice lines that feature other Spartans, maybe they’re fighting in other areas or something, but I don’t want any Spartans taking the role of Marines like in Halo 4, and I certainly don’t want to see Halo 5’s squad mechanics. We’ve had enough Spartans, I want Chief to truly take the spotlight for a change…
… The real question is, which Sangheili do we wanna see come back/make an appearance?
