Other Possible Halo Games

What other games do you think 343 will make besides the trilogy? I know they are focused on Halo 4 and Master Chief as they have stated, but Microsoft has said they want to shorten the amount of time between Halo games. So I am assuming this would mean Anniversaries and Spin-Offs rather than making a new game in the trilogy every 2 years.

Any ideas for any new games?

Edit: Thought I put this in the General Discussion, my bad.

I would say a Halo 2 Anniversary is pretty much a guarantee and I look forward to that. Hopefully future Halo games consist of a sequel to Halo Wars and perhaps another ODST game taking place between events in the new trilogy. I really like the idea of “What are normal human marines doing behind the scenes” aspect of the games.

Pretty much this, I hope. I could live without a Halo Wars sequel but there absolutely has to be a Halo 2 anniversary. And I’m always hoping for more of the slightly grittier ‘boots on the ground’ feel portrayed in ODST.

If they did make halo wars 2 it could where the spirt of fire is?

looking forward for a Wars 2. The other day I read powers, abilities and leaders that didnt make it into Wars and I want to see them in a sequel. Also news from Kinect 1.5 are so possitive that you could play Wars 2 only with your hands ^^

I really want Robot Entertainment (Founded by many former ensemble employees) to be commissioned to make a sequel to Halo Wars. Beyond that I have always said, I believe a single player FPS/RPG similar to Mass Effect would be an amazing take on the universe. Maybe Create your own spartan from childhood and live his/her story.

Honestly, I don’t want a Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 2 was just a sequal, Halo CE started the entire series. I know Halo 2 was one of the best Halo’s but it’s a sequal to the original game that sarted it all.
Also, I made an idea for a game that comes after Halo 6, and I’ve only got 1 feedback post, if I do happen to make it, I don’t want it to be terrible like what people are saying about Reach.

I think another ODST type game would be cool. A game, based off the books, would be interesting as well. There is plenty of material to use, just a question of whether of not to pursuit it

I really hope Halo 2 Anniversary doesn’t happen.

However, another Halo Wars or ODST style game would be great.

Another idea I’ve proposed in the past is looking at earlier battles in UNSC history. How about a game about the Jovian Moons Campaign, the Rainforest Wars, or the Mars Campaign. The latter of those would be my first vote.

I saw on some (random credible site i forgot the name of) That they already bought the domain rights to “halo5.com” and “Halo9.com” so who knows…

Just trowing out ideas:

Halo Wars 2, Halo 2: Anniversary, maybe a game set during the Forerunner-Flood, Precursor, or Human War?

> I really hope Halo 2 Anniversary doesn’t happen.

Why not? It’s only logical. The first two Halo games were Original Xbox titles so it makes sense to give them some love and bring them up to the Xbox 360. Since CEA has already been made that just leaves Halo 2 as the only one left behind. Halo 2 could use some love anyways since the original version is plagued with slow texture loading and a terrible screen burning effect which is extremely annoying on the 360. Not to mention Achievements, Online Co-op, extra terminals and easter eggs for the new trilogy.

I am totally excited for a Halo 2 Anniversary.

> However, another Halo Wars or ODST style game would be great.

Agreed. Looking back at the first gameplay video of Halo Wars its apparent the game in concept form was way cooler than the final product. A sequel could maybe go back to that concept and hopefully make them work.

An ODST game taking place during the events of Reach would always be cool. It would explain what Buck was actually doing in New Alexandria as well as other locations we didn’t see in Reach. Or we could just forget about Reach and see what Buck and the gang are doing during the new trilogy. Either way I liked that ODST squad and would happily play as them again.

That would be really interesting. Personally I would prefer they pull a Star Trek and move forward. When TNG was released they jump almost 100 years into the future from where the original series left off and they showed how much the Galaxy changed in that time. Halo could do the same by ending this new trilogy and then jumping 100 or so years into the future to show the galaxy has changed in peace time.

Halo Wars 2 would be awesome, I have always wondered if the Spirit of Fire would show up in this new trilogy since we do not know the fate of it.

Yea I think a Halo 2 Anniversary would be awesome, my personal favorite Halo game, and as someone said above, it was an Xbox game and could be a good bridge from Halo 4 to 5.

My reasons basically boil down to it feeling like a gimick. Halo CEA was created in celebration of 10 years of Halo as a whole, not just the 10 year anniversary of Halo 1. Now, if Halo 2 anniversary were done for a 20 year Halo celebration, I could get behind that.

But this is just my opinion. God know, being the fan-boy that I am, I would probably buy Halo 2 anniversary regardless.

Definitely. I would love to see something during Reach, but I would be willing to be it wouldn’t involve the same crew, outside of Buck.

Now a TNG sort of thing for Halo would definitely be cool, but at the same time, it might feel like stretching things. What’s great about Star Trek is that it’s not all about combat, but there are lots of politics and non-combat conflicts going on, allowing for a much richer story.

If Halo games were to disappear for a decade or so (I believe it would have to be something like 10 years to allow the next games to feel fresh), and 343 focused on fiction and introducing this future Haloverse, then a TNG style trilogy of games could really work.

I would like to see a Covenant game like the arbiter’s levels in Halo 2. Eather during the war or before

Another ODST would kick -Yoink-. I was thinking maybe a setting on a new colony, like Madrigal or Cygnus.

Or it could be a game set on Harvest, fighting as Colonial Authority troops in the first hours of the invasion alongside Johnson & Co.

CEA was a great tribute, but i don’t want to see EVERY game get a remake

i plan on playing wars very soon, but i can alreaady say that i don’t want another RTS game…halo has already done that and i would love to see 343 do future games in other genres like an RPG

But as for possible FPS games i think a game playing entirely as the arbiter would be cool

I think Harvest would be a good story as an FPS. Think of it as a Reach 2.0 but done right this time. A lot of the battles would be losses where the players goes through the level using a character that dies at the end of said level.

The campaign could take advantage of the new armor / abilities system, where each character plays differently. An example of this is playing a level with a ‘tank-like’ character similar to Jorge. You would move slower (except when using heavy weapons like Jorge’s chain gun), but be able to take more damage.

I think Halo Wars was set on Harvest, so all the Halo Wars vehicles would be playable.

The problem I foresee is that Harvest’s story has already been told, in its entirety. What was great about Reach is it didn’t tell the story of book (what little of the book actual covered the battle of Reach), it told a separate story that, at time, took place along side the book.

Harvest doesn’t really have this, between Halo Wars, Contact Harvest, and Halo Wars Genesis.

I would absolutely KILL for a halo rpg is the mass effect or even fallout style, that would simply be a really awesome way to expand the universe and fully immerse the player in the game, I mean I get engrossed, but full immersion would be an absolute wet dream.
