ost need to be more "halo"

if you have noticed, ost of halo 4 and 5 do not convince the majority that do not resemble those of the original trilogy and I know why, because the songs Halo 4 and 5 were in low, sad tone, and fast and many other songs instead of having the mystical and slow tone pitched sounds are more style Gears of War for military tones
I’m not saying I do not like the halo ost 5, though it would be tasteful to do less militarized, less sad, with sharper, more mystical tones ost that’s what they need, also my wet dream is to put the effect bubble as some songs from the original trilogy

sorry for my english is to use google

Coincidentally, I’m listening to it right now. I think it’s plenty Halo, with a good mix of militaristic tones, sci-fi mystery, and dramatic sadness. Halo 4 was a sharp departure, and I only liked about half of it. But the H5 is right back on track.

Agreed. And I feel along the lines that pretty much no Halo soundtrack has sounded the same. I had a post about it somewhere…

Griping that the new music doesnt sound like the “old” (read: Bungie) music is just wrong, because none of the OSTs sound like each other. CE was mysterious and almost spooky [A Walk in the Woods, Under Cover of Night], H2 was rock and roll [Mjolnir Edition, Breaking Benjamin], H3 was stereotypical “space opera music”[This is the Hour, Behold a Pale Horse], epic with long notes and high crescendos. ODST was haunting and filed with dread[Deference for Darkness, The Rookie], and Reach sounded almost tribal; appropriate for a “frontier” of space (I know reach was the biggest non-Earth population, but it wasn’t Earth, so we’re supposed to feel like it’s the untamed wild) [Overture, Winter Contingency].

Found it. Sorry for the word wall, I just didn’t want to retype my post again.

I wish I kazuma make a similar ost like a finish the fight of halo 3

Completely agree. I would guess that, aside from the Halo theme (and even then, I’d feel good about it), I would be able to guess which game a random track came from. But all in all, they all are distinctly Halo.

I appreciate H5 for what it is, I liked most of H4 and it helped that ND was a super Halo fan. Still, not Marty. H5 is a good return to the genre but maybe Marty can make a guest track for H6?

what I want is that there were some ost that resembled more the former, and also there were new ost, but I’m just saying that’s what is needed to make the music more “halo” referring you listen to the original trilogy , reach change too, with sharper, slower and more mystical tones that filter sound spooky

I disagree. Halo 4 had memorable tracks. Halo 5 has nothing that stuck with me at all.

I would point you towards revisiting these three

And possibly Osiris Suites 1+2, but especially the Trials and Blue Team.

I understand if you actually don’t like them, as I don’t try to judge others’ music interests, but I thought those were some fairly decent tracks. Blue Team is beautiful and The Trials is just… Awesome. IMO.

I did like several from Halo 4 , though. 117 (yay Kazuma!), the title theme (which isn’t on the OST), Arrival, Revival, Green and Blue, TO GALAXY. I love To Galaxy. Green and Blue is great, but I can’t listen to it without getting sad about Cortana (although recently that emotional impact has felt lessened. can’t imagine why though…)

Halo OST is amazing

Agreed, Blue Team is awesome! My mom loves it, and she has never even played Halo( no bias)

Halo 5’s OST is very Halo. I was disappointed in the trials though because all it was the same damn thing over and over. Halo 4’s had some good track but very forgettable.

It needs more mystery

Though I do think Halo 4 OST wasn’t bad actually but I do agree, not as memorable as the others. This Said it did had some really good tracks. I though the soundtrack of halo 4 was one of the best things of halo 4 lol

Halo 5 soundtrack I like better then 4 but I do kind of know what the OP means as there is too much of a “military, gears of war” type feel to it at times. I also am not impressed how they pretty much changed the master chief theme in Halo 4 and continue to use it in halo 5. He had THE BEST theme in halo 1-3. Why change that 343I?!?!?!

I like the music in Halo 5, better then 4, but it has a long way to go to match halo 1-3.

EDIT: also why 343I removed the Halo theme in halo 4 is BEYOND ME! So glad they more less brought it back in halo 5. Dumbest thing they ever did…

Halo 4’s OST wasn’t exactly a “Halo” soundtrack. However, Halo 5’s OST was clearly a step in the right direction. The one problem I had with Halo 5’s soundtrack was the fact that there were many areas that didn’t have any music at all. I mean, in other Halo games, most areas that was quiet, it still had some low bass and stuff like that to set the mood. But in Halo 5? Absolutely nothing. I just hated the stone-cold silence. There was nothing to set the mood.

Two things. One, the “Master Chief Theme” has never existed. You might be referring to the “Halo Theme”. Which brings me to the next point…

The removal of the Halo Theme was a deliberate decision. And they did not fully remove it. The one place in Halo 4 that you hear the famous Gregorian chanting? When we see Gamma Halo, when you fly there on the back of that Lich. There is a reason for the removal of what we know as the “Halo Theme”. It is because we aren’t interacting with any Halo rings.

Although with the Legendary ending, I would not be surprised to have the Halo Theme return full force for Halo 6.
