Neil Davidge you are a genius! It’s so amazing! That must be what heaven people hear when god yawns! It’s like every inch of my body is being rubbed against the softest strips of gold it FEELS good to listen to it! What do you fellow waypointers think?
I am not as overwhelmed as you but you are right: The Soundtracks sound very nice. I can’t wait to get the game and listen to the music while playing it. Must give me nice feelings
It’s decent, I suppose.
I just listened to the Haven remix and it sounds like from another moon, haha. Reminds me of Secrets of Mana. But I can hear a distant Halo 4 OST theme in it.
> It’s decent, I suppose.
I agree.
I wouldn’t say amazing but definitely great. I got goosebumps listening to revival. That an important factor for Halo music to me.
I concur, awesome music indeed. I can’t wait to buy the OST album and blast it loud in my car haha.

I absolutely agree.
Revival is fantastic and if the song list is in order of events in the game then it is near the end and is a clear indication that epicness will definitely ensue. This also raises interesting question because Nemesis appears much sooner so what exactly is getting revived near the end?
hmmm they sound good, but they don’t really sound like halo. the tracks can easily be used in any game like black ops, spec ops the line, star wars republic commando without me noticing and saying ‘hey! thats from halo!’ whereas if you put marty’s music in any other game i would instantly recognise it.
My personal faves are: Ascendancy and the Beauty of Cortana remix.
They don’t feel nearly as epic or emotional as Martys.
I hope that’s just because they’re saving the good stuff for later.
I miss Marty… The original theme was so good, it completed any sequence in the game and gave me goosebumps every-time. I am not feeling the OST for this game. They are changing Halo beyond recognition. I guess that’s what you expect when a million dollar company are hired to make a game purely for the purpose of money.
I can’t say all the samples we’ve heard blow me away…but To Galaxy for instance = goosebumps.
Overall I’d say it sounds great so far. But when it comes to Halo music, even though its enjoyable without its game context I still need to hear this ingame with the cutscenes and all going on. That’s what gives the music the emotional context that might take something from good to great.
this music ‘fits’ H4 quite well esp. with the hi-tech sounds mixed w/a little nostalgic haloesque type sound on a couple…
d/l on2 ipod for testing on H3 SOUNDS GREAT during play.

If you look at the achievements, we find this:
Reclaimer - Mission 5
Shutdown - Mission 6
Composer - Mission 7
I think it’s gonna be a Forerunner called the Composer who will be revived.
One more hint at a Forerunner being revived is that last OST: Green and Blue
Green stands for the Master Chief’s armor. Blue stands for a Forerunner’s armor.
Nemesis could be the level when you first meet the Prometheans. It’s the same level when the UNSC Infinity crashes. That’s why the next OST is called Haven. It will probably either have to do with the Multiplayer map or with the level aboard the UNSC Infinity (Mission 4 → Achievement: Infinity). Ascendancy could be the level in which the UNSC Infinity rises again. Or – as you can see at the cover art of Halo: Primordium – it’s gonna be some kind of alien fleet and a halo array. But I like the idea around the Infinity more because it also fits to the 5th OST: Faithless. Master Chief and Cortana don’t have faith that they will manage to escape from Requiem? Probably. It could also be a connection to those Covenant.
