Osiris

I wonder what capacity we’ll see Fireteam Osiris. I like Locke, but as a supporting character, not as the main one.

They will most likely pop up along the campaign, or at the least, a passing reference by an NPC detaining what they are up to.

Locke ranks among my favorite Halo characters along with Del Rio, Palmer, Laurette, and all the extras from the live action TV show.

I genuinely hope that everyone in Osiris and especially Locke can get their redeeming moments in Halo Infinite whether that be in a dlc campaign or if they appear as side characters. People may not like Locke because of 5, but it’s not like the character is inherently bad. It’s just that dang near everyone in Halo 5 was written to be a cardboard cutout and the game was written poorly. Locke and Osiris can absolutely be done justice and I hope that 5’s reception hasn’t soured the idea of fleshing Locke and his team out in future post launch content.

They’ll be at least mentioned in some capacity. They’re not just going to be dropped cold Turkey. And being that Locke’s helmet is on a main enemy, there will for sure be mention of him.

Lol I’m not sure if you’re being sarcastic or not😂

Probably have a passing reference to them as I bet ONI got some nice secret ops for them.

I do hope we get some story about them in Infinite.

I would like to see buck and Locke. In the April issue of Inside Infinite featuring brute brothers, one of them has locke’s helmet on his left shoulder same as tartarus had elite skull in H2, by this helmet, I think Locke fought against the Banished and is either killed or defeated. If we get to see the Reformed Alpha 9 consisting of Buck, Dare, Mickey, Romeo, Dutch and Dutch’s wife(who is also a spartan) I would think it to be bonus.

Also from Reach, I think Jun should get back into his Armor and become a beast with his sr99 as it is a big war and he should get into it

Who doesn’t love the voiceless background characters from the show that they haven’t seen yet?

Fireteam Osiris is actually pretty well written on the whole and I’m dying on that hill.

Osiris werent poorly written people are just annoyed that Halo 5 wasnt a Blue Team/Chief centric story and the inclusion of Osiris feels like it came out of nowhere since their introductions besides Buck is through out of game sources mostly (like Nightfall, the books, comics… et cetera).

People didnt like Osiris because they took up almost every mission in the game and Chief barely does much in Halo 5. In fact Blue Team in general do not do much in Halo 5. And that’s the real problem; Osiris isnt a bad character selection whatsoever.

.

The reason ODST and Reach worked when introducing entirely new characters is that they didnt steal any spotlight from the main characters and told side stories. Plus yeah, characterisation for most of them was done in the early cutscenes (whereas Osiris get more fleshed out with the in-game dialogue regarding their mission and such).

So yeah I think Osiris is actually competently written but not well shown through the game and its one of the things in Halo 5 I do like, alongside the gunplay (minus the magnum… yeesh).

Good point, you’re right

Hopefully written out in some way, they need relegating to books and other media.

Well as far as we know osiris isn’t whole right now or is running a stand in. Buck is likely with alpha 9 in the period Infinte takes place.
We know gabriel thorne was originally intended to be on FTO so maybe they use Osiris to tie the requiem campaign threads to halo 5 and infinite. I’m more bumbed about blue team.
343i seemed to mistake criticisms of how poorly blue team were added to campaign as hate for chief having allies.
I mean did blue team once mention onyx in halo 5 guardians? I at least thought dialogue would be used to teach players of their history while nodding to lore fans about moments from the books.
Still hope to see all these characters in infinite especially with shadows of reach ending like it did.
I feel infinite is the end of blue teams story

I’d like to see Locke, in some capacity in the game,l. Whether that be a supporting character, or in mention, should Chief be curious; “What about the Guardian?” Chief asks. Captain Lasky responds, “Osiris is mopping up Promethean units in grid 2-4, and will proceed towards that Guardian. Blue Team has been tasked with boarding actions on that Banished Carrier.” “Copy that. Tell Fred and Locke to regroup once that Guardian is neutralized.”
Something if that nature.

And should Infinite be used and a springboard for new games, Locke could have his own storyline and campaign. As with many other characters…

I would rather not see them ever again

I hope they do, outside of 5 they were all great characters and don’t deserve the treatment they got

They stated that they will not be returning in Halo Infinite as playable characters but they didn’t say that we wont see them in general.

An Osiris dlc mini campaign would be a good chance to develop the team more.

Hopefully they all die quick deaths (apart from Buck)
