Just seen on an IGN video that 343i has pulled the Orion map.
Why is this exactly?
There aren’t enough maps in the game anyway and I quite liked orion
Orion was pulled because of map exploits. Players could easily Ground Pound out of the map and then proceed to snipe from the outside.

It was also a rubbish map.
Players were going for the power up and getting a suicide when they didn’t make the jump and then would get banned for suicides. I was smart enough not to go for it. They just needed to remove the power up guess that isn’t as easy as just removing the map from rotation.
They put more maps in to each playlist as well.
Because it sucked? That’s why.
And no, I dont mean that as a troll. The map was terribly balanced and overall hated by the community at large due to being too open in swat and terrible spawns.
Because it sucked and shows how little testing and thought 343 put into parts of this game.
Orion looked and played like a forge side project that 343 simply said “this looks neat” and put it in the final rotation. The map doesn’t have a single redeeming quality.

Ah ok. I didn’t notice the exploits.
The only problem I had with the map is forgetting about the gap when picking up the power weapon and jumping to my death a few times.
Hopefully if they fix the exploits they will make improvements to the map as well.

lol. I’m one of those players although I caught on to that eventually and stopped trying to make the jump. Didn’t know you could get banned for suicides though.

Orion made me happy face because I usually had good matches on it.
I hope it’s gone forever, it is such a bad map in all gamemodes
Bc it is a crappy map.
majority of the time one teams rushed sniper, then camps in the red base the entire game.
Being spawn killed is quite frequent in that map bc of the sight lines red base and blue tower have over the spawns underneath sniper.
I have yet to have a close game on that map.
either my team completely destroys the other team, or my team can’t break control over red base and we get destroyed.
Bad map for a ranked playlist.
this map was a camp fest
I never played the final version but in the beta version there were so many camp exploits.
so glad this map is gone.
I hope they fix that freaking part where everyone either jumps or falls off of, you all know what part I’m talking about.
Good riddance to that map.
Has it been removed altogether or just for slayer?
I really liked it for FFA.
