For starters, I purchased the limited edition, I’m happy with the value of my purchase, I have had access to all specializations from the start. I’m also in the minority of people who does not mind paying for content that I enjoy, because businesses, even businesses as big as Microsoft deserve to make a profit.
My question, WHAT THE HELL is the reasoning behind the specializations stuff. Why on earth would players be capped at SR70 with only two specializations available?
At first I thought, maybe the plan is to unlock one by one over time as the months go by, but when 343 sent out codes to most people who played within the first month, it shot that theory down
Then I figured, maybe these specializations would cost money to download, but why not have them available to purchase right away?
While the specialization issue has been resolved for most people, there are still some people waiting for codes. Overall, it’s been a pretty big mess. If anyone from 343 or Microsoft is reading this, I’m just curious as to the reasoning to requiring a code to access specializations? Was this the plan the whole time? Did you realize, at the last minute, there was no way for non-limited edition buyers to gain access? Was it an oversight/mistake?
It’s called being dumb, really.
There is absolutely NO Reason to manage these specs the way they did, sure if they wanted to give LE purchasers early acces I can understand that, but having to mail codes (instead of having the specs locked and waiting for maybe milestones to be reached and unlocking them for all) is downright stupid, oh also lets not foget players on the UK were not sent codes at all.
I did get mine but this whole thing wa sjust a dumb move on their end.
There is a part of me that almost hopes it was a mistake or an oversight. Don’t get me wrong, that scares me as well.
But it might scare me more that someone thought email and xbl messages was a good idea. I just assume have specs for everyone, from the start, problem solved, done.
I agree with you, but given the fact that they sent out codes to people who played in November, I don’t think it’s possible.
They will unlock it for the rest later on, but considering most played before the 20th, I think it is the least of there worries…
Stupid, stupid, stupid

You very well might be correct, but given the fact that SR70 does not take that long to arrive at, unlocking in the future seems pretty dumb.
The ONLY thing I can think of is what Bungie did with Reach. Bungie capped everything at Lt Col or something. But there were no exceptions, EVERYONE was capped at that level. However a lot of people never hit that cap. I’m not even sure why Bungie did this, but I know that they didn’t have to send codes out to unlock the rest.
