ORIGINALS GRUNTS SOUND EFFECTS

Hello 343 developers!!
i’m a die hard French Halo fan from day 1,
and my request is as follows,
is it possible to have the first original sound effects of the Grunts in Halo CE? The Halo Anniversary design are absolutely gorgeous, but the most important thing is, that i want to get back my firsts memories back (as a lot of Halo gamers as well i guess),
because now when i’m playing the Halo CE campaign and i’m about to crush some grunts, i have this very strange sensation when it comes to hearing them dying, especially their cries of toddlers…Please please please, give me, give us this favor, and bring this little detail back on this absolutely
marvelous game who is for me my first and only true love that rocked us all during our childhood!(And i would appreciate some servers that give us the opportunity to have some longer games in multiplayers, because its so much intense that the games seems to be pretty short haha)
Forgive my miserable english
Thanks for reading me this far, and i hope you all doing wellCheers, Love and long live Halo! <3

It’s a small thing, but I actually know what you’re talking about. There is a weird sound difference that is easy to miss, and I think it has been like that since the old Gearbox PC version.

That’s right, it’s a “detail” but this game is a shooter so 99 per cent of the game is killing aliens, and a lot of them

I think I know what you’re talking about as well. Every time I hear that additional Grunt “death cry” (not sure of the proper name for those sounds) it throws me off a bit cause I’m not used to it being there.

Figured it had something to do with the earlier build Gearbox got. Bungie probably removed it sometime after that build during the Xbox development.

In the (french) Xbox version, any sound of a Grunt dying, being hurt or nervous is still the work of Joseph Staten, the person behind the english voice of the Grunts.

In the PC version they are indeed different and possibly by the same french voice, it’s hard to not notice the difference

That one ? It is in the Xbox version but it’s rare unlike Anniversary.

Yeah, that one. If that’s the case, I either rarely heard it or my memory’s -Yoink- (or both).

Exactly this one, i think its a little bit different from the French version but its the one that look like the most of the “crying toddler” death. And the following (very funny though) scream when you blow them up with a grenade have disappear…

I don’t remember hearing the one in the link, probably replaced like any death scream.

The ones related to an explosion are at least 3 in the original.

Really don’t count on it. It seems weapon skins come before restoring anything from the original version.
