It seems like 343i has made the right choice having Kazuma Jinnouchi return to do the H5 OST himself. I think Neil Davidge might have been a bit of a misstep in Halo 4, but now we have confirmation that Halo 5 will feature returning classics I definitely think we will get more of a ‘Halo feel’ in the H5 tracks similar to Marty’s work on the original trilogy music.
YESYESYESYES!!! Thank God!!! Jinnouchi is extremely talented and I can’t wait for him to mix old with the new!!
If you watch the Gameinformer Halo 5 Coverage Trailer, the Halo theme at the beginning sounds different than any of the others. Where as the others had this air of mysteriousness to them, this ancient feeling, the Halo theme displayed in this trailer feels like its flowing, sweeping, and generally a completely different tone if not obvious at first. It fits with how the rest of the Halo 5 soundtrack feels so far. I like it.

I definitely think Halo 5’s OST’s will be really great from what we’ve heard so far. It might even be on par with some of the original trilogy music.
muh halo feel
muh marty music
Jinouchi is rad dude. Japanese people are just weirdly great at video game development, not to be rascist ofcourse, but this seems to be the trend. Looking at you smash bros, mario, mariokart, kirby, metal gear, metroid, zelda, castlevania, and Darksouls.

Well I mean, aside from Atari and a few others, Nintendo, Sega, and Japan basically created video games.
I really feel like 343 learned a lot from h4. They did a lot of radical changes in h4, some liked, some not. They’ve learned to dial things back and reconnect with what people enjoyed while still pursuing their own ideas.

Maybe programming is somehow genetically enhanced, making Japanese people really good with technology, their also a really scientific country. It’s an odd trend, right when we thought they were struggling with the wii U BOOM most favorited console. I love Japanese games.

Well, that certainly is racist (but at least not entirely offensive) … it’s more of a cultural & economical thing. I think Japan simply understands the importance of technology and puts forth more of an effort to create, develop, and understand it than a lot of other nations do (besides the USA & South Korea).
It’s more that they believe technology is the future and they are investing heavily in it as they have since the 1950s. Also, as an island nation with limited resources, there isn’t much to export, so being one of the leading tech producers has made them an incredibly wealthy nation and I’m sure they want to keep it that way by setting the bar high.
They also have much higher education standards than in the USA, so my years of music training vs what Jinouchi probably went through is, I’m sure, laughable.
yea, just listening to that music from that game informer vid sounds like a huge improvement from halo 4’s soundtrack. Never really liked Halo 4’s music with the exception of 117 the music kinda felt out of place. I glad Jinouchi is the main composer.

I know, I just really like Japanese games, I was kidding, they’re just percieved better because they have more of a history and have more big creative figures like Shigeru Miyamoto and Hideo Kojima.
