Original novel trilogy, what's the difference?

Ok so I’m starting my Halo novel collection from scratch, I used to have 5/6 of the original books, fall of reach, the flood, first strike, ghosts of onyx and contact harvest, but that was some time before halo 3 came out so since then I’ve moved house and lost my books :frowning: so today I decided that I’d finally start my collection again, starting with the classic fall of reach, I’ve noticed they’ve done new versions of the first 3 books though so could anyone tell me what the differences are? Any parts of the story that have changes?

I’ve never read the new versions, but I hear that lore inconsistencies and typos are fixed, so therefore there is some added stuff.

Like BlitzGirl said, they’ve made changes to be more consistent as well as typo fixes (though I swear I saw USNC somewhere in the newer editions). The ‘Definitive Edition’ books also have some extra content, like mission reports, additional side stories, psych eval type stuff, and other things of a similar nature.

Oh right haha, thanks both  I’ll probably buy the updated trilogy after I finish reading the classic version of fall of reach

Not related to the earlier books but just FYI in the past couple months I’ve started finally catching up on the later books and since downloading them I believe two of those even had updates. Fortunately with iTunes the updates are free and all I had to do was click update. So if your going digital you probably don’t have to worry but if you’re getting a physical copy, might want to verify it’s the most recent despite being newer.
