Bungie started it with Halo 3. 343 are just continuing it (let’s just hope they will not continue the approach regarding Halo AI but you didn’t hear that from me…).

Maybe he realized that it wasn’t the CE pistol, so he said “it’s the trash halo 3 magnun” throws away.
