im new to Xbox live. But I’ve played halo from the first day it came out. And I’m hooked on multiplayer. I never got the chance to experience H2 online. I found a place that is keeping it alive. So I found an old trashed Xbox and brought it back to life. Picked up H2. But I want to go to the begining. And ( xboxconnect ) is a start. I hope this helps anyone searching.
You do know that the Master Chief collection offers the ORIGINAL Halo 2 multiplayer along with Halo CE multiplayer right?
Hope you can do some Halo 4 stuff?
I do now. I’m going to be picking up xb1 soon and fist buy will be the MCC. Is it any different from the original h2 multi player?
I have halo 2, 3, and 4 . and I spaced my gold account and it expired. So I’m waiting for payday to get it back up. I will be playing halo 4. I’ll be getting the xb1 and playing around with the original Xbox and go to that site to play. I’ve been reading that there are big differences in the games. Obviously its a new system platform. Up to date tech and software. I just have to see for myself.

From what I can tell (and I have played both Halo 2 on the original xbox and Xbox One) there is no difference in the buttons, physics, damage, etc. They seem to have kept everything the same in all the multiplayers from Halo CE to Halo 4.
The only different type of multiplayer in it (and personally I love to play it) is the Halo 2 Anniversary multiplayer. It combines both Halo 4 and Halo 2 into one type, and I think it’s great. Definitely worth a shot at trying out. And the redesigned maps are just beautiful to look at in game.
Forgot to mention that Halo 2 also has its own playlist so you don’t have to worry about playing other Halos if you don’t want to. Personally I do Team Slayer because I like the variation of multiplayer between the Halos.
Halo 2 was great, so many memories

I will jump in and go with the anniversary then. I’ve been on such a tight budget and want the xb1 and MCC that its torcher. I haven’t been able to buy it.
The Halo 2 Classic game type is the best.
i just got a little taste of the newer halo2, the original has no patches, so you can go almost anywhere on the map, we were all over the old maps on split screen . it was a blast

I agree and what I said about some of the limitations will not stop me from playing it.
Halo 2 in MCC is NOT the original halo 2. It is ported from Halo 2 Vista. For those like me that spent countless hours on Halo 2, can tell the difference. Same with halo CE, it is a port of the pc version.
Sounds awesome! Welcome to the “real” Halo world! Multiplayer in the original Halo’s, including system link and split screen from CE, is way more fun than the previous newer games such as: Halo: Reach, Halo 4, and now what seems to be Halo 4 on steroids, Halo 5: Guardians. I still have my original Xbox, 360, and XB1. Playing the complete original Halo 2 on the original Xbox is so much fun. Either way, regardless whether you use XBC or get the XB1, its what Halo is really about! Have fun

All I can say is I can’t wait to pick my xb1 up and the MCC. Its a blast
Halo 2 is good, brings back memories, I never had the chance to play online, but when you have the xbox one, proved, be the first
halo 2 war awesome when you could have grunts, elites, jackals and hunters on your team.

XBC has been around since 2001. They were always another way of playing online without needing an XBox Live Membership. I actually played through XBC more than XBL for a while because Halo CE had thousands of players. Now that the Master Chief Collection is out, you can play the original Halo 2 with all the maps + some of the PC maps. It’s pretty great but you’re right, nothing beats the original
Halo 2 Sacred Icon Mythic SLASO
Halo 2 Cairo Station Mythic SLASO
Halo 2 Metropolis Mythic SLASO
- Mythic = SLASO + no use of save & quit + no deaths + a film .
- SLASO = Solo Legendary All Skulls On.
- SS = Single Segment - completing the level in one run without deaths.
Its hard to get people who’ve never played halo2 to try it or stick with it. My favorite trick when I played split screen. And first. Was bouncing a grenade off the top of a doorway when being chaced and getting the guy behind me. It always got the s.o.b or w.t.f. LOL.
