FINALLY!! The original Breakout come back after a long time! Am I the only one super exited about this? I was thinking about re-making it in the costume mode and play it with friends but that’s not the same thing…but now…oh baby my fevourite mode come back from the grave
What do you think about this return?
I am excited but a tad bit crushed as elimination and breakout 2.0 have much more maps then the original breakout. Thus, the matchmaker is more likely to choose those maps with the associated gametype.
Maybe they’ll add some new maps for (original) Breakout?

Oh wow did they actually changed it back after it was asked to change back to the original breakout since last year

When I saw that Breakout 2.0 has replaced the original one i madness a post and the rest is story (not really they close it in 5 hours or something like that)
I was hoping for a leggendari comeback!
Makes me wonder if they’ll use the SMGs for Classic Breakout, especially since they’ve changed dramatically since the Weapon Tuning Updates.

I think the bring back the Original one with SMG, no radar no shield all that stuff and the 2.0 version (the current one) plus “Elimination”

Near the end there was a flux of og maps. Maybe they will have those as well
Beyond excited to play both original Breakout and Extermination in the playlist. Disheartened that I’m still going to be stuck with Breakout 2.0 in the playlist, but I guess some still do like it, and this seems like a best of both worlds solution.

Ya I don’t like breakout at all! But especially 1.0 but Extermination is great! I can it being a thing in future halo games as it has been received WAY better the either version of Breakout. I’ll be really surprised if breakout is back in future games though.

I loved 1.0, actually. It felt unique and had it’s own style of game play apart from the other playlists, and Extermination was a blast to play when it was in the rotational slot.
Sucks that Breakout 2.0 is still gonna be there. Hopefully I dont get it often lol

Yea…I never liked the 2.0 version, I think it’s kinda “Nooby” thing…Shotgun, shield and motion tracker…naaaah the old 1.0 were for real Spartans, No shield, no Traker and most importantly SMG and (NORMAL MEGAZINE) Magnum that was awesome
I can’t wait, I want to play it and bring memories back
Everyone I know who actually played breakout… quit playing when shotguns were introduced, and this news comes far too late to ever get them back.
But hey, shotguns is “what the data showed” at the time so I guess that as far as 343 is concerned, these long-term implications are irrelevant and unrelated to the repeated dumb decisions made in H5.
Has anyone played yet? Out of my 10 qualifying matches, 8 were extermination, 1 was Breakout 2.0, and 1 was OG Breakout. I don’t know if the weighting system is truly set up like that but if so I’m very disappointed

I actually played a good amount of OG Breakout and Extermination. Got the occasional 2.0 match unfortunately, but otherwise had an awesome experience.
I think it’s good they brought it back. I think the original breakout was way better than the new variant. The new one took away a lot of the uniqueness of the mode by adding shields/radar/shotgun starts. I did however agree with the flag change and glad they implanted that into the old variant.
Yes! I’ll see you all in 5 weeks while I’m binging it. Please have new maps.
