Ordnance.

I like it, but its not balanced. The only weapons that it should have are all loadout weapons, the gravity hammer, needler, railgun and the concussion rifle. As for power ups we shouldn’t get damage boost, that should be found. If you have anything to add, please do.

I think ordnance would be fine if we had a competitive playlist with traditional halo weapon pickups and timers without ordnance. A fun social version with, and a competitive version without.

The point of this thread is to discuss what I proposed not just say, get rid of it for this playlist. But I would like a classic playlist as much as I enjoy halo 4s new stuff.

Ordnance should come with the semi power weapons like the SAW, Concussion Rifle, power ups etc
Rockets, Lasers should be map drops.

With regards to Ordnance, they need to serious be changed. I’m getting “repeated” drops in every match. Even on BTB where i want a sniper, and i get stuck with that damn, ugly as hell, Sticky Detonator. Its a worthless weapon, IMO. If only we could have the option to customize our drops or at least have a set up like this.
Tier 1 (first drop)
Gravity Hammer
Energy Sword
Sticky Detonator
Needler
Overshield
Tier 2 (second drop)
Spartan Laser/Railgun
SAW
Shotgun
Scattershot
Damage Boost
Tier 3 (third drop)
Sniper/Beam/Binary Rifles
Concussion Rifle
Rocket Launcher/Fuel Rod Cannon
Incineration Cannon
Speed Boost
*Grenades in Personal Ord drops DO NOT BELONG.
You can find all three kinds of grenades on almost every map.
Who agrees with me, and believes the set up of Ords should be like this?

I don’t like the tier idea that much considering people would have more nice ethics to camp knowing that if get reach tier 3 they have a good chance of getting a 1 so weapon. Really if halo does return to equal starts with no AA’s classic style the throw down playlist has shown that having ordinance drops be for AA’s is a great option if thy still want to keep them in. It also gets rid of camo campers and major issues surrounding them. Maybe having you obtain power ups in ordinance if you survive wih said AA long enough to get ordinance again that would be Bette IMO .

I used to agree with ‘tiered’ systems. Now, I can see the benefit in just removing the BIG power weapons from ordnance:

i.e. the Beam, Sniper, Rocket, Incinerator, Binary (especially this), Railgun, Spartan Laser and Fuel Rod.

Basically, remove all the weapons that are long range 1SK potential, and can put the hurt on vehicles

Maybe include a DMR with a chainsaw bayonet, possibly ordinance with an AC-130 like Pelican, or maybe a swarm of crawlers, Bam!

> Maybe include a DMR with a chainsaw bayonet, possibly ordinance with an AC-130 like Pelican, or maybe a swarm of crawlers, Bam!

That would be really cool. Use the chainsaw if a Crawler, Knight, or Elite are on top of you.

> Maybe include a DMR with a chainsaw bayonet, possibly ordinance with an AC-130 like Pelican, or maybe a swarm of crawlers, Bam!

Let’s trow in the spirit of fire, maybe even a halo ring detonation! sarcasm
This is halo dude, lol love the joke though, but callable ordinance doesn’t even belong in Halo, period.

Why does everyone not know how t spell ordinance?

I mean, really. But besides that, I called it wouldn’t be balanced before the game came out, hipster style.

Is that before or after we add claymores, bouncing bettys and attack dogs?

Maybe like a 3 headed armored dog dropped via kill streak ordinance.

Lmao.

haha, no offence dude, but you need to look up your spelling of the word ordnance (or look up the definition of ordinance)

(I only became aware the other day)

> Why does everyone not know how t spell ordinance?

Ordnance

Ordinance

There’s a slight difference.

As for ordnance, my standard response:

THread to make it “balanced”.

Isn’t that what Requisition is for?

I did use that with Ordnance Priority. I’m getting the same drops. For instances:
I had 4 drops on Haven in a recent game. They were:
Drop 1
Sticky Detonator
Needler
Pulse Grenades
Drop 2
Needler
Plasma Grenades
Overshield
Drop 3
Sticky Detonator
Overshield
Pulse Grenades
Drop 4
Needler
Speed Boost
Frag Grenades
I had those exact drops, and i was pretty surprised, b/c i was expecting Railgun, Shotgun, or Scattershot.

The problem with your idea I have is, do players get punished for dying? Do the tiers reset upon death? If so, then the better players will always get good drops of their choosing to stonewall the players who aren’t as good, that wouldn’t be very fun. Or do the drops continue on despite death? If so, what incentive remains to keep players playing smart? If they can die over and over again and still get their Incinerator Cannon in a drop, does that really improve someones skill?

I can get a Rocket Launcher in my drop, and I can hold on to it until game’s nearly over, so if we’re losing by a few kills, all I have to do is call it in and I can win the game for my team.

I mean, what kind of -Yoink- is that? It’s far too easy.

Ordnance needs to be much, MUCH harder to access.

We need a set Tier system. If you get X amount of kills without dying, you can drop a power up, and the more kills you get, the better the rewards will be. But if you die before dropping your Ordnance, you lose it and if you happen to die before the meter is full, it goes down.

This system would add a clear skill gap, which is something I think Halo 4 is lacking.

Too many bad players are rewarded with power weapons and it isn’t fair. There needs to be some risk involved, you shouldn’t be allowed to play badly and still have an Incineration Cannon drop to your feet.

Why not just put power weapons and power ups on the map that players should learn the spawn times of, learn to control the map and win by superior skill?
