I’m assuming you get skins on just your primary weapon. So how would y’all be with the idea of having Ordnance skin?
Explained: I’m aware that ordnance weapons aren’t in loadouts. Still you could be given ordnance skins and once you pick up any ordnance weapon, the skin automatically changes in game.
Or perhaps the skin could only affect the weapons that YOU call in, instead of the ones you pick up.
I’ve always wanted an arctic Sniper Rifle.

I meant Ordnance weapons in general, not just personal ordnance. So that would include both.
Sounds like a good idea, but realistically, I don’t see how it would work. I mean how would you pick up a weapon that is its plain default color, and it be a skin that you pick for it as soon as you pick it up? Seriously, I don’t think that putting a skin on a weapon would be that easy. I though that you would have to edit the colors of your guns so that they have the colors that you put on them.
NOTE: I’m talking in a way that would seem believable in how you would do it in real life instead of it just ramdomly happening in .5 seconds.
Other than this, I have no problems with this as ling as it doesn’t make the gun completely unrecognizable or make the firing sounds differant (which I’m sure it obviously wouldn’t).

That’s what I mean. It would seem a bit strange to pick up a weapon and have it magically change to the color you desire.
Which was why I suggested skins on the Ordnance Weapons you call in. It’d make a lot more sense.
> Well it is a simulation
But, realistically, it doesn’t make much sense if you pick up a default colored weapon and have it randomly change to a color of skin that is most likely on the weapons you spawn with.
I actually don’t want weapon skins at all, but that may just be me.
> I actually don’t want weapon skins at all, but that may just be me.
I don’t see why people have no love for weapon skins in general other than it being in CoD also, which is a generic, horrible excuse. It doesn nothing to the weapon except change the overall colors of the weapon.

That is a generic, horrible excuse. Luckily for me, it isn’t the one I was trying to use. I simply feel that they don’t really belong in a Halo game. I’m not demanding they be taken out, or insulting anyone that supports them; I just don’t like them

Well, I will respect your opinion and applaud you for not jumping on the “It doesn’t belong in Halo, it belongs in CoD. Remove it!” bandwagon.

It’s a simulation like bullet said and is no more or less magical than Promethean weapons assembling themselves.
I see as simple as applying your camo so that it changes in game. I don’t think it’s that hard realistically and the infinity should be able to do it.

Respect to you as well, bud

Well, like I said, I don’t hate the idea except for the realistic “how could it work” thing.

What do you mean how does it work? You pick up the gun and the skin simulates onto it. It’s no different from the game recognizing what person has what gun, especially when you get a kill with it. I’m sure there’s a way for the gun to recognize you.

I get it now. Too bad it will not be in the final game as far as this idea goes. It is a pretty good idea.

Here you go

I have a feeling that some ordnance weapons will have skins because of Custom games. Sure, the Sniper Rifle isn’t a loadout selection in matchmaking, but in customs it could be.
