Ordnance...how does it work?

So if I were to call in say, a rocket launcher, would someone on my team have the ability to steal it from me? Or can only I grab it? I see Ordnance as a waste if some shisno can just take my hard-earned fire power? Or maybe I don’t understand it enough…My confused is brain!

You get five kills and call down ordinance at your feet. The moment it lands you can simply press x and pick it up.

Not much time for someone to steal it, not sure if they even CAN.

I honestly don’t see how this makes any sense at all…why does my team get the weapon if I got the kills? Why are they notified where it is, so they can steal it? This makes no sense at all. I hope there’s a preference where I can make Ordnance only obtainable by myself, as I can see many ragequits by me being caused from this.

Lol it’s not just you and your team that can see it, it’s everyone in the game lol, imagine this, you already have a rocket from you last drop, you earn another, get it dropped in a choke point, sit back and wait for the free multi kills lol

Because if that were the case, it would simply be a killstreak reward. And I think that would outrage Halo fans. This way, it’s just a weapon drop (or power-up) that everyone knows is coming in and has fair chance to react. That said, I don’t like the idea of Infinity Slayer, but I’ll give it a chance.

Or, in a highly-likely scenario, I call it in and a teammate takes it, or I die and someone takes it, or I get sniped and someone takes it. Gee, I feel special.

It’s just like the Battlepoint system in Homefront, only simplified.
You earn points by getting kills, assists and “playing the game” really, streaks give points but is NOT necessary. When you got enough points, you can at any time call in the ordnance, and if you die you keep your points and can call it after you respawn.
However, once it’s called it takes a few seconds for it to be delivered, and during that time other players gets a notification too so they can steal it from you if they get there first, or simply kill you to get it.n Hence you should make sure to call it when you’re relatively safe and not in the middle of a fight.

It warns us when ordinance is coming? From what I’ve seen in the gameplay videos, ordinance drops quickly and within range of where you are…not too much can go wrong for you not to pick up what you’ve earned…

Drop it in front of you, I don’t think it’s that hard to get it before your teammates do. Also common sense dictates you don’t do it where anyone can snipe/kill/attack you.
