Click on the text above to see how Halo fans make fun of someone who supported the idea of killstreaks in Halo, back in 2010.
Fanboyism.
Personal ordinance drops are not kill streaks.
Its funny, seeing as You don’t even get ordinance in any gametypes except infinity slayer(and possible infinity variants of CTF, oddball etc if they have them). Every other gametype will have the classic method of weapon spawning.
They also aren’t obtained through kills, but instead through medals. And each one takes more medals to get than the last. Its not like you get 3 easy rocket kills and get to spawn an overshield.
> Personal ordinance drops are not kill streaks.
Yet they function in almost the exact same way killstreaks do.

They are earned like kill streaks, but player skill is need to use them, and from their, if that player is killed, someone else can use it. But power up are making it close…

The population of the Infinity Slayer playlist, just like the population of the Team Slayer playlist, will be the radically bigger than any other playlist.
Simply because it will be the main playlist in the whole game, the one who is at the top of every other playlist.

What if 343 removes the “normal” playlists, like they way they removed all DLC playlists?

Medals, like the other guy said.
Well in 2010 we didn’t know that:
A) Drops are limited to infinity slayer
B) Drops carry across multiple lives, so they aren’t really streaks in the slighest
C) Drops simply drop power ups or power weapons, they don’t spawn banshees to bomb the opposition or instantly win the match for you.
I’d say drops are more analogous to buying items in Counterstrike. You play the same way you always would, but if you’re doing well over a period of time you can get something nice for yourself, like a sniper rifle. The enemy can still kill you and snag it off you if it was a weapon.

…Seriously?

Not really. Killstreaks are based solely on a string of consecutive kills without the user dying.
Personal ordinance drops are represented by a meter on the player’s HUD. The meter fills as the player gets kills, assists, etc, eventually allowing a player to call in a support package, selected from 1 of 3 randomly selected options. In addition, Ordinance drops are not affected by the player’s death.
While ordinance drops may have been inspired by kill streaks, they are very, very different.

I don’t think it will have it’s own playlist. There would be no point in having 2 separate playlists.
No, I believe it will be 1 slayer playlist with options for4 either infinity or regular slayer(with other gametypes as well), just as it has always been. At this point infinity slayer looks fun, but honestly I can’t see it being the main gametype. General slayer will still hold that title, as it is the simplest of them all, with infinity and other more exotic variants being the off-gametypes included under the slayer menu.

Well, there is a huge difference between picking up a gun and having a Nuke blow up everyone on the map and instantly win the game for your team.
And like Toa Freak said, they’re not even the same as Kill Streak Rewards. You don’t need kills to get them, can get them by getting assists and other medals (like distractions), plus I’m pretty sure they continue after you die.
I think it’s sad that if any game feature is remotely similar to something from Call of Duty, it’s instantly hated, even if A: It’s something cool and B: It’s better than Call of Duty’s version.
Isn’t it Just the Needler, overshield, etc. that are part of the supply drops? Just saying…
You would get ordinance drops through point accumulation through multiple lives not through kill-streaks. You also can’t call in a strafe run, of a gunship to fight for you, you can only get a power-up or a better gun.

Also, after reading the OP’s post in the thread you linked, that is NOTHING like what we’re getting in Halo 4. The only thing that’s similar is that you get rewarded after getting kills.
Honestly, how can you say that a 7 kills- Longsword Airstrike/Banshee Airstrike is similar to getting a Needler?
