So, Ordnance drops. A lot of mixed opinions about this; Some say it’s bad, promotes bad stuff, some say it’s good, promote’s good stuff, some say it’s money milking the cod fans.
Ignoring all of that ‘From Cod therefore bad’ stuff, I have something I want to talk to you guys about.
So, we know that Ordnance drops are earned in 3 ‘tiers’. And we know that they carry over past death; A good thing, if you notice. The chances of massive killstreaks are higher in fast games like CoD where a lone wolfer with skill can turn the game around quickly. (Trust me, I’ve done that enough.)
However, in Halo, that’s a bit more challenging.(And hopefully not because of betrayers, flying exploded chars and lag) Because you die a bit more. The game runs at a slower pace than those super-fast action games (Both are addicting, but Halo’s general speed was definitely slowed down in Reach) so the amount of deaths you might receive from teamed up enemies and all that are a bit higher.
Ordnance is, in it’s simplest form, prizes for doing well. I don’t see how this is bad; Campers don’t get any due to the slowness, and it encourages people to get better.
But now, on to my main point:
A bigger prize for better players.
What if you could reach Tier 3 of Ordnance…without death?
I’ve been thinking about this. And…well, what better way to introduce the laser designator to matchmaking multiplayer? I mean, first off, War Games is canon, so why they can’t do something like this for training, I don’t know. And next, it would be great! I’m not taking this off of Cod and stuff, but in Cod, the highest killstreak is something like this; A big fat ordnance that is highly coveted, and generally shows ‘skill’.
Good idea, or bad?
