At first I liked ordinances. I don’t like them anymore, I feel like its giving too many people too much power so fast in games. One minute they’ll have their DMR out, and the next time I see them they have an incerneration cannon! I really feel like ordinances have a place in halo, but not as the norm. I’d hate to say this (I really do because I don’t like to make halo 4 look like a bad game, it’s my favorite) but ordinances are making halo 4 so unbalanced. I understand that 343 is just trying to help people get weapons they couldn’t before, but helping these people is just creating carnage, and not good carnage either. Not the carnage we were used to, carnage before meant whoever picked up the energy sword or rocket launcher in the center of the map.
I absolutely LOVE Halo 4, I truly do, I play it ALOT. You can even see my service record and see how many days I have played lol. What I’m trying to get at is ordinances have a place in halo, as well as loadouts, but it just needs to be done differently.
What I would like to see happen in halo 4 is the “infinity slayer” and “BTIS” playlist becomes just “Team Slayer” and “Big Team Battle” with personal ordinances removed completely, and ordinances be placed in a different playlist, like an all ordinance slayer playlist, implemented into a dominion variant, or something similar to that.
What I suggest in the future, is that ordinances become a certain gametype like I suggested, or become a tactical package so you have the ability to get ordinances after accumulating a certain amount of points.
Do yous agree with me? What are your thoughts?
I made a poll for you guys to check out too!
Thanks for reading!
Ordnance should either be completely removed in Halo 5 or it should be notably weaker than map weapon spawns.
Example, ordnance drops would give you grenades, needlers and ammo refills for LOADOUT weapons, etc. Maps spawns would give you rockets, snipers, OS etc.
I’m one of the few, but…
I like them.
I like them as well. They are a reward for getting kills and assists helping out your team. You must tactically choose the best option that appears, and utilize it to the fullest. I like that about them. And contrary to popular belief, rarely do you get and incineration canon.
I only like the power ups. Can’t stand the thought of using power weapons.
Hi iM LighT is of sound mind, that’d be much better than having to turn on Resupply and always having to pick up ammo from dead players.

I never thought of that.
That my friend, is a very nice idea. That would make me happy about the whole ordinance issue in halo 4.
For halo 5 I would still like my ideas above to be considered.
I’m ok with the ordances, but they should make it so you only have 1 or 2 chances to get it. The first one wouldn’t be as rewarding but the second one will.
Personal ordnance should have been an odd-man-out feature, used in only a handful of playlists and gametypes. It should not have been a standard addition to all of matchmaking.

That’s exactly what I’m saying, did yous play the new big team slayer gametype?
I like them because finally it is something new in the Halo franchise. I’m tired of people constantly trying to live in the past all the time.
I don’t understand how people can sit here saying that games are stale now and they’re never moving forward and somehow Halo is an exception. Everything else can be expanded on, COD is allowed to get crap in regards to never changing, but Halo for stupid reason is exempt from this mentality.
So stupid.
I want to play my favorite franchise is different ways, not constantly playing the same gameplay that has been played for the last 10 years. It’s time to move on people.
Even IF they happened to be balanced with just AAs grenades and power ups it still FEELS gimmicky and just not like Halo.
That being said I believe PO would ONLY be somewhat balanced if power weapons were not in it.
Still, definately prefer a ordinance-free Halo.

Horrible, absolutely HORRIBLE argument. Just throw in whatever unbalanced, gameplay ruining mechanic you want in an adored franchise on a whim just because you feel a game is stale and needs evolution.
I would agree if the mechanics actually made the bloody game better and remained competitive but EVERYTHING in Halo 4 has done the exact opposite. Instant respawn, custom loadouts, PO, aim assist, JIP, etc. has pretty much irrevocably made this game a MESS.
I like Ordnance Drops in Infinity Slayer. Note that I said in Infinity Slayer. Trying to use them in almost any other playlist is just stupid. They’re good for a stupid, random, fun playlist - if you want a more challenging version of Fiesta Slayer - but they’re not good for competitive play.

Exactly, it’s not that we don’t want change. If the changes are good and balanced, then that’s great. AA’s for instance is a welcome change that I wouldn’t mind at all if they were all balanced properly. Camo, Pro Vision and Jet pack are the only AA’s I have a problem with. The rest of them are fine. Ordnance, instant respawn, spawning with plasma grenades and starting with a one shot kill weapon aren’t good changes at all though imo.
I am ok with playlists containing ordinances remaining, as long as the gametypes themselves that have ordinance are very rare maybe.
Ordinance is a tricky problem, it really does unbalance the game, but I don’t want to see the idea go completely. I’ll leave ordinance up to someone else to figure out
