Ordinance v2: Wiiwill's daily ramble

I was thinking about how map control is mostly gone, and how vehicles are beyond useless, and though “What if power weapons still spawned on the map via drop pods at random times and in random places, but change player Ordinance to Power-ups and ammo-only? Maybe AA’s/Equipment?”, Ordinance is fantastisch, but needs to remove the game-breaking weapon spawns. Maybe have Ordinance-only special weapons like the Sticky Detonator or Gravity Hammer, but not Beam/Binary rifle, Rockets etc. Referring to my former statement, before the Ordinance idear, every map could have trait zones (Please, for the love of Sgt. Johnson, bring back area names like Reach had for this, I won’t have to tell my team “Go to the strut-structure looking thingy and get the damn sniper”) that spawn specific types of weapons more often than others. For example, the Symmetrical Platforms on Solace. We all already snipe with Dmrs, Snipers, etc on there, so the Drop-pod that spawn there by default could have an 80% chance for a Sniper-class weapon, at a rate of once per 2 minutes out of 8. This could apply to other areas of each map as well, all it would take is little to no research, and some balancers. Hell, I’ll do this for free if given the chance. I’ll try working on a Solace map with these options later on as a prototype, and we’ll see if it works better.

I’ve also heard people complain about Plasma Pistols/Grenades in loadouts, yet I rarely see someone using them honestly. Why not just boost Vehicle Health and damage to combat it? Make vehicles actual vehicles, in other words, and not just a larger target, in that case.

Guess my threads just suck, eh? /shameless self-bump

I think plasma grenades in loadouts is fine. It seems a bit harder to get a stick than it was in Reach and Halo 3. Plasma pistols in loadouts on the other hand…well that’s just -Yoink-.
