In all honesty i know a lot of people who would love the halo 4 ordinance drops to come back…
They would allow greater tactical choices to be made, and i think it would make the Matches more unpredictable.
In Custom games? warzone or matchmaking?
Maybe even if there was a way to customise your drops, And each weapon has a different Value…
So think of it as a warzone tool. If you had a Saw a Tac mag and Some standard nades it would be like a 3 rec point drop
Whereas a Rocket launcher a shotgun and plasma drop would be like 6 or 7 recs.
What are your Thoughts?
Maybe i’m overthinking this?
I hope ordinance drops never returns. Ruins the idea of map control in multiplayer which was one of the core elements in Halo’s multiplayer.
Maybe, ordinance drops can fit in to action sack, custom gamemodes or maybe Warzone but not the equal start playlists (i.e BTB, Team Arena, FFA, etc… ).

Thank you for replying and i appreciate your view. i really like the idea of the drops though.
But i get that it would ruin the map control aspect, but dont you think it would make games less predictable?

I wouldn’t want this in Slayer, CTF, or any over ranked matches. However, it could be a fun variant of slayer to have in a social playlist or something (but not in standard slayer), with the ordnance drops working like in Halo 4.
I don’t like ordinance drops in my arena. Map control, fair starts, blah blah blah. Moving on.
Honestly, your suggestion sounds similar to what Warzone already does. You already get to equip your spartan however you see fit by using req points. As a slayer game mode, it seems like it would be like fiesta, except everyone just has whatever weapon they want. Map/weapon control goes out the window, and you just get people running around with SAWs/shotguns/railguns/rockets/whatever on maps that were never meant for that sort of thing.

in all honesty, you’ll find at least 10x as many people who hate it, despise it, see it as a pointless addition,
cheered when 343i announced that it won’t come back & hope that it’ll never return to the Halo games in any form
not trying to be rude, but Halo didn’t need drops back then, it does not need 'em now & it won’t ever need them in the future
Halo’s better without it
I’m with most people when it comes to the ordinance drops. I really did like them but I like the req system much more. And that’s another thing - having them in warzone would totally undermine the extensive req system that they designed to replace ordinance drops in the first place. MAYBE ordinance drops could coexist with req if your random weapon cards could be utilized in the field, which would essentially be the same thing as ordinance drops. If they did that, I think it should cost an extra req point or two (in addition to the req points required to redeem a random weapon at a terminal) for the convenience of getting a gun delivered to you in the thick of it.
But honestly, I think it’s well enough. I like the req system more. I like the terminals which provide free max ammo for your starting guns and (usually) a safe place to change up your abilities and power weapons.
Ya ordinance drops would be great
