Ordinance Drop Priorities

I just have a few criticisms of ODs, and hoping 343i would possibly tweak the chance of getting some of the weapons.

  1. the binary rifle (promethean sniper) drops less than the other 2. It should have the same % chance, considering it only has 6 bullets

  2. I think you should have slightly lower chance to get SAW and Sticky launcher

  3. The shotgun seems very underwhelming, especially compared alongside the scattershot that can shoot multiple times in succession

  4. Grenade drops should give you some of each type (and why is it that pulse grenades have a carrying capacity of 1 – so bogus)

  5. A final suggestion: Add active camo and promethean vision as a drop, equip it for 20 seconds after pick up


On a side note, I’ve heard you can get fuel rod cannon and spartan laser as a drop, Has anyone gotten these?

I’ve gotten the fuel rod cannon before. Not the splazer though.

Last night in an OD it gave my girlfriend the option of sniper, rockets, and plasma grenades.

Wish I could get OD rolls like that.

yup, there’s always a really good power weapon in every roll, and nades/shotty is almost always ignored for me

That’s 6 guaranteed kills if you know how to aim. One shot kill regardless of where you make contact with an enemy makes the Binary Rifle the most powerful weapon in Halo 4, and I think 6 bullets is pushing it considering no power weapon has historically had that much ammo in the past. I think due to the immense power of this weapon, it’s % chance of being dropped should continue to be low. Just my opinion.

I’m quite ok with the way ordinance drops are done in this game, I’d just like less drops that end are made up of pulse grenades, needler and speed boost.

i know this is all in your opinion but i hope that doesn’t happen. SD is probably one of the least common ordnance drops. if anything the chance for getting should be slightly increased.

  1. The binary rifle is op. It’s a 1 shot kill, and should not drop as often as the other snipers.

  2. Agreed on SAW

  3. The shotgun is a beast, it also seems to have more range than in previous Halo’s. I also seem to drop guys in 1 shot from a longer range with the shotgun than the scattershot.

  4. I never take grenades from personal ordinance. They should just eliminate the “scavenger perk” I mean resupply, and allow everybody to pick up frags dropped on the battlefield.

  5. Not a big fan of AA’s, but Promethean Vision should stay as is, I agree on Active Camo.

For the love of God, do not make the Binary Rifle more common.

I’ve played numerous games where I’ve seen at least 3 or 4 in a match. They’re overpowered and should actually have their ammo lessened.

Firstly, Binary rifle should not be as common as the other two snipers.

Second, sticky detonator is awesome and needs to show up in every one of my drops.

Third.(in response to someone else) im pretty sure got a fuel rod in a drop the other day, i selected it because it was the best thing in the drop, but i gave it away.
