Optional TU Gametypes Added to Firefight?

I’ve never really been a fan of Vanilla Reach, but I’ve fallen in love with the TU and ZB settings in Reach. I’m just wondering if it’s possible for us to ever see the gametypes as options in firefight as well. I’m not saying overhaul the entire Firefight experience to be nothing but TU gametypes, but throw in some TU gametypes into the playlist, or give us a Firefight playlist dedicated to TU settings, along with the playlists that currently exist for Firefight.

As much as I didn’t like Vanilla Reach for competitive, I personally feel it’s even worse in Firefight. I’ve got Skirmishers that run at a default speed as fast as I can sprint, and jumping three stories high. Having 85% bloom would allow me to buy myself a little more time to keep distance between myself, and enemies who can move quickly, (i.e. Skirmishers and Elites). Another thing is bleedthrough. To me it’s completely ridiculous that no matter how little shield an enemy has left, my headshot or melee will not bleed through, yet if I have full shield and health, one hit from an Elite or a Brute can kill me, or come pretty close to doing so.

I just want to know if you think adding TU setting gametypes into the mix, or giving a TU playlist for Firefight is a good idea. As such, I don’t really want to see any arguments that say, “No, because TU takes less skill…” or, “No, because I don’t want Vanilla Firefight to be messed with…” Such arguments miss the point of my post completely, as I’m proposing something that would be completely SEPARATE from Vanilla Reach settings.

The Title Update didn’t enable the ability for 343 to modify the firefight game types.

So is there nothing they can do? At all? That’s… Well that’s really quite depressing…

Half hearted implementation ends in half hearted results.

The Title Update’s individual settings are enabled using Megalo, the Multiplayer gametype engine. Firefight does not use Megalo for its gametypes, and Megalo was never designed to work in a synchronous AI-supporting environment. Ergo there is nothing 343i can do to apply the TU to Firefight.

(Not unless they tear apart and reassemble a sizable chunk of the game engine, that is. Of course, if something were to go wrong with that particular chunk of the game engine, then literally everything would break. And it would break badly.)

Marry me.
