Throwing this in there; 343 please include an option to turn off the white text and have an option to make the kill feed smaller, so people like myself who love to split screen on live can play without this annoyance, also please don’t make the same mistake as bungie and have half the playlists unplayable with more than two people in the party. That sucks. If you could at least do this, that would be lovely.
You don’t notice it after a bit of playing, it doesn’t get in the way.
Whenever I watch gameplay videos I barely even notice the white text after a little bit, I imagine it will be the same when playing.
Honestly I don’t understand why some people are so upset. I don’t even notice it watching videos, so I HIGHLY doubt I’ll notice it during gameplay. I imagine most won’t notice it during gameplay.

If you’re playing splitscreen with more than two people, then in addition to the framerate drop, you also have to put up with text going across your reticule.
I doubt i’ll notice it when I play, but it seems like an incredibly pointless addition. It’s like how they keep adding more and more medals, people need to have their self esteem boosted so much now in modern video games it’s ridiculous.
Yeah, watching gameplay videos they don’t seem that bad. I think some people are just blowing the issue out of proportion. I’m sure I’ll get used to it pretty quickly.
I’m just curious if those will show up in Campaign if you’re playing and keeping score. It might break the immersion, more than the medals and points already do.

I’d rather have the option to disable something that annoys me and doesn’t affect gameplay than have to get used to it.
Hopefully, as far as campaign is concerned, you’ll be able to turn scoring on/off like Halo 3/Reach. I really don’t want anything popping up at me in campaign unless it’s part of the narrative.

Thank you.
The more options we have in regards to the screen clutter the better. Some players don’t need to have their hand held, but there are others who do.
We don’t need our hand held. Give options for on screen text and the announcer.
In the most recent bulletin, bs angel said that the text (or most of it anyway) fades away after x amount of play. So (unless I missunderstand, which is completely possible) it will only be there for the first few games to help new players, and then it will disappear.

I think what was meant by that statement was that after a while, players stop noticing it.
Personally, I’ll probably stop noticing it after a while, but every now and then I’ll notice it again, and then won’t be able to ignore it for a few games, which is why I want the option to turn it off. That and I’ve always hated arcadey pop-up numbers in games

This. It will gradually go away until it happens rarely (or at all). I hope it just stops all together after a month of playing.
lol making a big deal- i swear most people on this forum don’t play 3+ split. You people have no idea how horrible it is to play reach 4 player splitscreen- even on a 50inch HD TV, -Yoink-'s impossible to see what you’re doing with that blue writing, yes the white text fades fast, but it will get in the way and it will ruin moments, it’s something that shouldn’t happen and would be simple to make an option for, 10 minutes of work probably not even. Stop being so lazy 343i. gawd

I always notice it. I cant stand it. Its the ONLY thing in halo 4 right now that is bugging me. think of screenshot and montages when you keep seeing the annoying text in the middle of the screen
please make it an option
