Option to mute medal "popping" sound.

So I’ve been watching some of the footage of the new Warzone gametype, and I must say it looks pretty fun. One thing that I kept hearing started to bug me more and more though. There’s that “popping” sound after players get certain medals? Or is it just headshots? I don’t know, for some reason it really bother me and ruins the immersion. Hopefully we will have the option to mute it. Other than that though, pretty excited to try out some 12v12 action.

lol. Well, I wasn’t sure that Halo multiplayer was supposed to be about immersion exactly, but yeah, it’s for head shots. It was in the Arena beta as well. Personally, I think it’s hilarious.

Yeah, of all things to ruin immersion . . . lol. Yeah, I don’t know, for some reason it just really stands out from the rest of the sounds . . . And I don’t like it.

I love the popping sound. It reminds me of Gears of war 3 headshots, only not as loud. You could here those things from halfway across the map. But I like them all the same, makes me happy when I hear it. Especially after a four shot, which now has a medal, so satisfying.

There will be no option to mute it. It’s like asking to mute Jeff Steitzer’s voice in MM, it’s a part of the game, and yes it’s only for headshots. If I’m not mistaken then it’s also in H4

Hmmm, I don’t remember it in Halo 4 . . . maybe it sounded a little different or I just didn’t notice it. At any rate, yeah it’ll definitely ruin the game for me a little if there’s no option to mute it. Or hopefully they’ll let us turn off medal notifications? I don’t know, I just don’t need to see all that extra stuff on my screen.
