Option 2 turn off Skill!

Is there a skilled based ranking system in social now?

why can’t we just have a option too turn off skilled ranks and be sorted with pros and noobs?

im not sure if this is accurate. Something I took notice too; is that in the BTB playlist I’m getting put in with a bunch of skilled players? I don’t mind playing too my skill level but I play Halo not too compete but too have fun and relax!

Please give us us the option too turn off the ranking crap not everyone plays too compete!

Yep. It’s been discussed. 343 is aware but there probably will not be a change.

In the very beginning, there was no skill matching in Social. Turns out people didn’t like that because since everyone matched everyone, without regard for anyone’s skill, it meant the groups of high-level players could run together and stomp the severely outclassed competition. So if you want to go back to that, the Social playlist will quickly become a ghost town when the high-level players run everybody out of those playlists.

Social always had a skill system, but it’s a lot looser than ranked and you actually have it backwards, OP. If you don’t want to play higher skilled players, then you would want the skill system to be tightened – not loosened.

BTB’s skill matching was actually loosened up more several weeks ago so what you’re experiencing now is a result of that. It needed to be loosened though because of population issues otherwise it would either take a long time to find a game or you would never find one.

This definitely needs out of social! Playing competitive isn’t what it’s all about! IMO it made the game a lot worse! Take away the skill system and it will be good again!

Honestly I’d be fine waiting for a game than having too keep pace each round there is no fun in it now!

Well then you would want the skill system in place. Getting rid of the skill system means champion level players could match with you in your games. Here’s the bottom line:

No/Loose skill system: You can match champion level players and you can match bronze level players. It’s a mix of getting stomped and doing the stomping and you would get matches that feel less competitive because you’re stomping on bronze level players. The downside is you will also get games where you get stomped like you’re currently experiencing which can feel like everyone is trying even though they may not be. Their skill is just a lot higher than yours.

Tight skill system: It has potentially longer wait times, but you would match people within your skill range so no champions. It may feel more competitive because you can’t stomp on bronze level players since everyone is around your skill level and the games will usually be closer in score.

Pick your poison since you can’t have it both ways. You could solve this on your own though by not trying to play competitively. You might die more, but you can also say that you’re not trying and don’t care about your stats.

Yes.

Because people don’t enjoy being matched with players well above their skill level. It kind of sucks.

You’d prefer to play with people of a higher skill level? or do you just want to play people of a lesser skill level and make sure they don’t have a fair match they can enjoy? I play to relax as well and having a skill matching system makes that a lot easier.

> Please give us us the option too turn off the ranking crap not everyone plays too compete!

No, they play to have fun. It’s hard for a lot of people to have fun (including myself) when they are consistently out matched and can’t get off spawn.

No I hate being outmatched! I liked it the way it was before being sorted with noobs and pros! Has a variety in each match!

And this new system definitely is not fun!

I actually have noticed much closer games in super fiesta lately. Much more often being decided by 5 kills or less I find.

If you don’t want to be outmatched then you want a tighter skill matching system. That way you match people at your level. Those are the choices… a decent skill matching system or you ruin matchmaking for everyone

It’s so weird because that’s what pass halos had and still a huge success. I like to blame how everyone buys every game left and right. People get bored to easy

I like to think the skill gap between players in past Halos was not nearly as pronounced as it is in Halo 5. Also, more people in general in past Halos helped quite a bit on that front.

You have to take the overall game into consideration. I think think the majority of people could put up with a very loose skill matching system as long as the overall quality of the game was worthwhile and fun to play. With H5, it also had a loose social matching system, but people probably had issues with the overall game and so they left. I don’t really think it was because of boredom, but most likely due to a combination of things.

To be honest. I have to avoid BTB because of matching parties of way higher skill. I can’t ever get a game there without running into a party just camping all power weapons avoiding the flags and spawn trapping. Which sucks because its always been a favorite for my friends and I.

I know it was never a problem before with past halo’s! Don’t fix what is not broken 343!

I know I hate halo 5 btb now because of the stupid skill matching that’s why I’ve been playing Mcc btb!

It’s not true for you, but I’m sure there are others who left because of the ranking system as well as other reasons.

so youre quitting because youre playing better players? Why not practice against them and use thier tactics? You know getting good requires you to take Ls from time to time
