So seriously, what did you think of the game? Did you like it? What do you think about it in general? People’s opinions are conflicting like crazy, and I just want a few opinions.
I think its ok. The storyline was good but the implementation was bad with an over-reliance on mini-games and QTEs, with the combat itself becoming quite stale and boring.
Multiplayer can be a lot of fun but is hampered by a lot of issues such as JIP, lack of ammo on maps and the DMR being an absolute beast. The removal of custom game options and classic objective variants like Assault and classic CTF is really disappointing.
Overall I am fairly happy with it but nowhere near as excited or pleased than with a Bungie game like H2 or H3.
I’m going to add this in: I don’t like the music, that’s for sure.
HALO 4 bad music
Why is everyone saying the music in HALO 4 is good? It’s not, and it doesn’t go well with the cinematography. There was no original HALO music, just really bad orchestral things. The only good part was where the Didact’s ship came out of slipspace and the Chief was looking at the Halo ring and the monks started singing. In the level Requiem at the beginning of the level when you walk out and see the floating Forereunner things that would’ve been the perfect part for the monks. Some of the music sounds like Star Wars, and you can’t put Star Wars music into Halo because they are two different types of orchestral music. The Halo 4 soundtrack is probably the first Halo I’m not going to get.
Haven’t much of the campaign but the MP is awesome. Maybe it’s because I went into the game expecting it to be -Yoink- since I hated Reach, but I really don’t get the complaints people have minus a few MM issues like unbalanced teams when the game starts. I guess it’s mostly the “hardcore” fanbase being a vocal minority and having an almost -Yoink!- level of hate towards change.
I don’t like the MP much, just like other “hardcore” Halo fans, probably because like you said: We’re used to classic Halo-style MP, and when the game gets changed to COD style we don’t like it as much. Many people say COD didn’t invent the killcam and care package and everything, so who did?

The game literally plays nothing like COD though. Ordinance is nowhere near as dumb as calling in -Yoink- like AC130s and MOABs, and killcams take absolutely nothing from the game since they’re not in the playlists that would be ruined by them. Without PC support Halo can’t really compete with other shooters if it changed nothing from Halo 3.
